why hasnt this reached 1000 degrees yet?

Because USB 2.0 is so outdated now. It's max real-world performance is typically about 30MB/s which means it would take well over an hour to fill 128GB of storage!
The convenience of USB storage is soon outweighed by the endless waiting if the performance is that slow. I had a 32GB USB 2.0 flash drive over 10 years ago and even then, 25MB/s wasn't fast enough for moving about large files (such as video) without being annoying.

This will be so slow. Idea for long term storage but not for quickly transferring files

Great price but who wants to wait that long? Besides usb 3.1 is over 8 years old and people are already are adopting usb C which is fast and durable.

Is there any particular reason it should?!

It's a good price, no more. The undisclosed write speed (that means less than 20mb/s) means it's really nothing special.

Is there a particular reason you’re asking?

Ofcourse. I thought you knew something that the rest of the world wasn't aware of. Given the other replies to your comment, I'm surprised at your follow up question. Your lack of offering any particular reason for why you think this should be exceeding 1000°C when it's sitting under 200°C suggests you dont. How boring.

What?

I told you, kcajjones told you, jr997 told you and Clotbot told you why this wasn't 1000°C. Now go away and read and maybe learn how to write too.

No. If you read my replies, there's no sentiment of anger anywhere. If you read what I and others have replied with, I'm sure you'll comprehend the answers everyone has been trying to give you. Of course, if you don't want answers, and to live in ignorance and perpetual confusion, don't waste our time by asking questions.

Gormand also has an answer for you.

Peace?
I wouldn't call it compact by any stretch of the imagination. Probably the biggest USB drive I have in both size and capacity!
