Seen often, sometimes slated. Best price I've seen for it yet under a tenner. Anybody need one for those PlayStation Classics?

They're also offering 2 for £17.99 if you wish to double dip. The 256GB one is £19.99 (or 2 for £37.99) if you need a bigger USB stick. Probably not the fastest out there, but worth a look at under £10.

I'm not sure how comparable it is, but they also have a Kingston for £12.99 (cheers @Brutes )

Specification

Ive got one of these and yes its not the fastest, but ive had it a while now. its the 128gb version and its half full - of work stuff, pictures, etc. it took a bit to copy over the pictures, but by the time i'd had a brew, it was done. Are people in that much of a rush nowadays? Surely if you want twice the speed, you will have to pay twice the price.

For me personally, its a good price for what it is.

All the red USB sticks on sale can be seen [HERE]
Would never buy another of these mymemory drives. So slow, like watching paint dry when they are writing data. Gave mine away.
Have to agree, these things are super slow. 128gb is utterly pointless at those write speeds

Have the 128gb and it is really slow. Also has a bright flashing red led light when in use which is quite annoying.
They never used to be - bought one a few years ago and it has decent speeds when plugged into a USB 3 port.

However, whenever a deal for them is posted, a lot off commenters say they are slow so it appears they have changed the spec.

Shame, were good value for money.

I think you might have a different model as this is a USB 2 device with a write speed of 25MB/s, usb 3 is supported via backwards compatibility but it has a fixed slow speed.USB 3 has a write speeds of 100+ four times faster minimum.

Think this only work on PS classic once you've used another usb2 stick to update to OTG firmware
Heat added - too slow for me though, I guess that's why these are so cheap!

It was very much luck of the draw, I got lucky and mine can consistently hit write speeds of 90MB/s. I haven't brought another since as I'm afraid it'll be a slow one people here complain about.

I have purchased two earlier after fooled by their usb 3.0 description, cheaper price, reputed brand and seller.Proved wrong..dead slow..please don't purchase them even if you get it for £1.

Same for me. I bought a 256GB model a couple of months ago when they were on offer and it is close to 100Mb/sec too?
I'm getting confused on these comments. Are they people saying it's slow putting them into usb 2 ports?? For these to be usb 3 I'd thought they have to be to a standard but obviously only when in a usb 3 port otherwise why have usb 3 in the name?

I’m not sure why everyone is saying they are slow I’ve had the 128gb red one for at least 3 years now and it takes about 4 minutes to transfer a 12gb file to it max which I don’t think is bad.. mind you if you think that’s slow please educate me
Can I play a 4K movie off this on my tv or would it be choppy?
According to MyMemorys own product page the speeds are "Read Speed 25MB/s, Write Speed 14MB/s"

So obviously, not too fast
Answer from MyMemory regarding speeds... 2nd answer down.. "The Read Speed is 20MB/s and Write Speed is 6MB/s.

Kind regards,
Kerrie
MyMemory
By MyMemory SELLER on 25 January 2019" amazon.co.uk/MyM…1-3 256GB version.
So that confirms that it's uber slow

Well doing the math on 12gb in 4 minutes write time that’s at least 50MB/s so they must have downgraded it to make it cheaper as I paid £24 over 3 years ago...
Referring to the 4K question my faster MM Red played movie no problem whatsoever but the size of the file did corrupt the stick but I managed to reformat and it’s been working fine since.. just copy a large 4K 60gb file on a blank drive worked fine...

It's a tenner, I don't expect it to be fast.

I didn't expected that slower either...it's slowest than my 10 years old pen drive.

Do you know if the movie was 30 or 60 FPS?
transfer rate is very slow, I have a 256Gb one, takes ages to transfer data
Usb 3 is a joke! .this is slower than most of my usb2 drives.Avoid if you don't have hours to site files
I just bang TV programmes and films on it for travelling. Can't grumble
Very flimsy, plastic....got to be very careful with it so as to not break it.
Not too bad though if you can fill it with PS1/Emu stuff in one go (will take ages) and then leave it in your PS Classic once it has been updated with OTG cable.
Whats the best memory stick to go with to use on a smart TV? I take it external hard drives around 1tb are not a good idea?
i wish I'd listened to the naysayers, not assumed it can't be that bad and not agreed with those who say "what do you expect"?

This is astonishingly, infuriatingly slow. i almost broke the thing open, so convinced was I that there must be a tiny person inside etching the data on tablets of stone. It has a curious habit of stopping every few seconds before ultimately resuming - maybe the little person is skiving off for serial fag-breaks?

Unless my memory is playing tricks on me (double-meaning intended) this must the slowest USB 2 or 3 stick I have ever owned. I can only assume that the quality has dropped even further since those who say its OK bought theirs.

If you're a homeless person with nothing but the proceeds of begging to your name, go for it - all others beware.

Thanks for the confirmation, I purchased one about 4/5 years ago, but it was very fast write speeds upto 90MB/s. I haven't brought another since as I keep reading they're now really slow now.

Do you think all the reviews posted on a vendor's own site are guaranteed to be legit? That was the mistake I made.

I'm telling you the truth - they're utter garbage. I bought two and they were identically, laughably slow, so it's not as if the speed was due to a fault. I immediately bought a Samsung Bar and it was beyond being in a different universe for speed.

If you can't afford anything more expensive, don't intend to use it regularly and have the patience of a saint, then go ahead. Otherwise run as fast as you can.

how is the write speed?
I haven't measured it - I wonder if technology has advanced to the stage where it can measure something that slow.

No need to bother anyway. MyMemory have produced a new cheap black one that is apparently much better . I assume they had lots of bad feedback on this one.
