Sounds interesting, but I wonder with these things whether it's really plug and play. Do you need any other equipment, or can you just take this little device and the included receiver anywhere?

Why does it say it depends on the condition of your "existing aerial", what if I don't have an aerial?

Its Freeview.. If you don't have a decent aerial you are not going to recieve any channels.
Realistically it needs to be connected to a good outdoor aerial to recieve anything. If you are within a few miles of a tranmitter you may get a signal using an indoor aerial.

Its the software that is crucial with these devices. Often the software is buggy and clunky. You need BDA drivers to allow it to be used with windows media centre edition ( or many other alternative programs). Its not clear if BDA drivers are available for this.

Thanks for the pointer and helpful info all

I use a indoor arial booster thing. Freeview works fine with it. If you are in a good signal area and get an indoor arial with a booster then it should work.
