N42 MINI PC Intel Apollo Lake Pentium N4200 ( 2M Cache, up to 2.5GHz) DIY SSD Desktop HD Graphics 505 4GB/32GB 1000M/LAN 2.4G/5.8G Dual Band WIFI BT 4.0 MINI Computer Support Windows 10

Was looking for a media pc and this seemed like a good price for Apollo lake. Some key points:

Option to add m2 ssd (which is probably required as the 32gb isnt ideal when windows starts updating) not essential though so can wait for one to come up cheap on hukd.

Apollo lake seemed to be more futureproof than the older cherry trail. Particularly with upcoming 4k content.

Cheapest ever according to camels.

I am no expert as I havent been in the mini pc market before! Interested to see what people think? I actually managed to stop myself pulling the trigger for now (i'll keep using my laptop plugged into tv for a bit!)

Depends what your intention for this device is. Just to play local media??

I would consider something with external aerial if you plan to use wifi rather than ethernet port

Plan to play local media, stream from NAS and Netflix etc. via Wi-Fi. External aerial is a good point!

The comparisons on the Amazon page show other Mini PCs with 64GB and similar (slower) specs with 64GB of storage.

Why would you? I'm flattered, of course, but why are you so interested in my wifi?
No HDMI 2.0 , no hdcp 2.2 so totally useless for 4k . Big negative.
Looks ok for a Plex server to connect to Chromecast?
4GB DDR3 RAM + 32GB windows (C:) + 128G Max Extended Capacity + DIY SSD(Max 320G), downloads your favorite shows and movies with smooth and responsive navigation and apps that launch quickly( SD Card is NOT included).
Not sure what this even means ? why cant you fit a 2tb m.2 ? where does the 128Gb come in?
Good enough for a htpc plex kodi download box tho
Is this not better for the money, and specs?

Here.

Yes, that does look better! Cheers. It also has HDMI 2.0. Do u know will this work for 60fps 4k? How about HDR? I was under the impression all HDMIs were equal but someone mentions differences above
Yes it says it does 4k @60fps,don't know about hdr though.

If you scroll down near the bottom of the page, there's a youtube review.
