Be gentle with me, this is my first post and surprised nobody has beat me to it!

Cant find them cheaper than £220 anywhere else on the net.

Vastly unrecognised superior headphones. What hifi gave them an awful review (strange) but they have won award after award elsewhere and are considered by many to be the best sub £250 headphones you can buy.

Some of the most "neutral" headphones you can buy. Treat your ears.

If you have to have closed back headphones so you dont disturb other people, they are very few which come as good as these under £300 IMO, Shure 1540 and Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 are definitely better but double the price so they should be!

Not headphones to use on public transport - getting your Nads out on the train can get you into a lot of trouble.

Indeed! - on another note Richer Sounds used to advertise Nad products in a superb way, their A5 catalogue would say something about the super low price and Go! Nads Go! in a speech bubble.

Superb headphones, possibly the best overall sub-£300 portable closed back pair from an audio perspective. If you're in need of that style of headphone then for £150 these are a no-brainer unless you're after a distinct tonality like the bass monsters that are the V-MODA M100.

I personally disagree on the Momentums, I think they're very good and a step up from the originals but I still don't think they're as good in terms of clarity, detail retrieval or soundstage. I'm yet to try the 1540s but by all accounts you're right that they're a better closed back headphone for home use, but they're massive while the HP50s are intended to be used as a portable pair, so I guess it's a case of each buyer's intended purpose

soundstage is great on these nad. Im worried though as they dont mention "beats" anywhere :P

What is the bass like compared to the sennheiser momentums?
I thought the momentum v1s had a bit too much of a bass bloom and i would like something more neutral

heat for the deal, would have bought if they didn't look so bad when worn! ahaha

Less bass than the momentums but tighter and more controlled. They dont lack bass though, its just a nice level (to my ears anyway) . As for neutral, i dont think you can find a pair of headphones with a more neutral sound than these unless you paye about 3 times more.

thanks for that howard.

What size head do you have?
I have a small one and the only practical downside to these cans seem to be the headband looking at some reviews

Lol i think my head is average. I dont have any of the problems some people seem to have had in some reviews and I find them comfy. As stated though they are perhaps not the most fashionable looking things when out and about but I find them comfy. My theory always is, esp with Amazon, if you dont like them or they dont fit right, send them back! thats what 7 day DSR is there for
