Yes, tried mine out yesterday when on a drive to northwales, normally my radio is fairly quiet why scanning but yesterday it never stopped, the Amazon one I linked to is from the same seller just with a different sma connector and the reviews are also good there, just that it is more expensive to buy on Amazon. amazon.co.uk/Cen…-21

I also have one of these coming just to try out or as a spare, £1.56 cheapest I could find, hopefully if nothing else this one would still be better than stock antenna why mobile. ebay.co.uk/itm…649

Mainly aimed at the Amateur Radio market, this item is a bit niche, still could be a finishing touch to a rogue mini cab. Voted hot, if you want or need one it is a good price.
This antenna should be OK for mobile scanning however for home scanning a discone antenna will be far superior. Now sure how it would perform in transmitting mode as broadband antennas usually end up having a high SWA (standing wave ratio) which can damage the radio.

I bet this would make a good scanner antenna, but as you say a discone would be the better option. ebay.co.uk/itm…nRm

Do you know much about scanning, I am wanting to know if this scanner would receive uk cb fm channels pjbox.co.uk/uni…tml , I am confused as I found a review that said it would not because the scanner searches that part of the frequency in AM.
Legal UK CB channels are all on FM channels. Most good Scanners should support both AM, FM and SSB. The manufacturers spec for your quoted radio should confirm this.
