You can buy the hosting and there is a moneyback guarantee if not satisfied. They transfer your site, reset your DNS to namecheap. Site is visible after propagation in new hosting, till then in your old hosting. Not satisfied, ask for your money back (Payment with Paypal) Reset your DNS server back to your old hosting which still hosts a duplicat copy of your site. Cheap enough to have second webhosting in case of downtime on your main hosting. You can host 5 websites so you can share the hosting cost with others.

lil_bil

Thank you for the reply mick2me. I will have a definitely be having a look and trying out namecheap soon. Don't know why this is being voted cold, if there is a problem with this offer please comment with what it is guys, come on we meant to be helping each other get good deals on this site. (Think the web admins need to put in a function that a cold vote can only be counted if a comment is made first else no voted in counted)

mick2me

Have now been hosting with them for about a week, Hosting is fast from US servers and they transferred my site and databases over server to server very quickly. I have found their support to be excellent. They need Cpanel access on your site to do the transfer. Buy a block of hosting and transfer over, if you dont like it, reset you DNS pointers back to Godaddy. I took it for three years and am glad I did. Update here with your experiences Good luck ps. I see the idiots are still voting this down without giving any reason, this unfortunately causes people to pass over bargains without reading them. I will never again trust the ratings on this site or post another deal.

lil_bil

Hi, quick question to anyone who has used namescheap. Are they any good for hosting (reliable)? They are good for domains but don't know about hosting. I am currently with godaddy hosting (been with them 1 month) they are good with domains but are quite bad for hosting, having a lot of latency issues with database setup and sending emails and they don't seem to bothered to sort it out. Going to try and get a refund for the remaining 11 months and leave them.

mick2me

Thanks for taking the time to comment Geemac. Proves my point and that of catherton above. There are members on this site that will anonymously vote down a deal because others have done the same. Probably the same for Hot deals as well.. If I remember the same happened to my first posting as well.. I therefore never reposted deals I found since that date to yesterday Not the best way to encourage new members to post deals? Thanks top all who voted hot, as I saw the rating go up and down, best it reached was -1 Unfortunately your hot votes were defeated by silent negative voters.

Not sure 'most people' would, if they want to save a bit of money. It is common to find that there's a lower price for transfers than for renewals, and I transferred a number of domains to Namecheap early this year when they were charging just $3.99 per domain. It's definitely worth checking transfer prices on Name.com, Namecheap.com, MyDomains.com and a few others every month or two, [i]especially if you have a number of domains, because a transfer is quite easy to do **** and you can make considerable savings on the $10 - $15 renewal prices if you are prepared to transfer. I generally pay $8 or less for most transfers. **** so long as you get hosting separately - I use a Xilo.net reseller account as I manage 100+ domains - mostly for clients

joshal99

That's quite obvious though. £6.88 is a good price and less then other providers.

Jhawsh

Namecheap is one of the best domain registrars ive been with, even without the deal still great.

CDR

You mean its an affiliate link? Most likely its HUKD's as its how they generate money.. (I would expect they strip the OP's affiliate and insert their own, if they have one for this merchant).

TescoBoss

pretty sure you get some benefits with the link you provide.. saw somewhere that its not allowed on here.. not sure though.

http://www.crazydomains.co.uk/ are worth a look if you're doing any domains today - they have a sale on .co.uk for £2, .com for £1 - and you can pick up multiple years. Get on it :)

MrBrightside1987

Yeah I hate that too, and until Namecheap I always got it free even though the domain was only $9.20 (~£6). However, I found that the decent registrars now charge for it (Namecheap, Name.com), and the ones that don't usually subsidise the cost into the domain price e.g. Gandhi charge £10.50/year + VAT I'm not sure if anyone is looking for hosting, but last night I decided to move everything away from HostGator and found EZPZ to be well recommended, and closely priced to HostGator. I've also had them help with migration, and received support responses almost immediately, longest reply period is 14 minutes. They've helped schedule a full migration of all my sites, and client sites from HostGator to their server at midnight tonight to minimise the level if downtime clients will experience. I'm in no way affiliated with them but thought it was relevant enough to mention for anyone looking for a decent UK based hosting company.

Cheers for that speed007 :).. Although NameCheap is pretty easy to point to your own server too, as that's what I use it for :), hence not bothering with the hosting packages :P

speed007

I would go with Internetbs.net As they offer .co.uk and .me.uk for £2.75 but they offer: •Free: 50 URL Forwarding •Free: Subdomains URL Forwarding •Free: Catch-all URL Forwarding •Free: Geographic URL Forwarding •Free: 100 Email Forwarding •Free: Subdomain Email Forwarding •Free: Catch-all Email Forwarding •Free: internet domain name PUSH •Free: internet domain name parking •Free: Realtime internet domain name contact/registrant update •Free: DNS Server list update •Free: DNS Management •Total control of your domain names •Free Private WHOIS so it is lot easier to point your home server to your domain, just a thought, Although op price is good and heat added.

liamwithers94

Each year afterwards is £6.14 ($9.69 - obviously changing with currency rates). After having a quick look, if you purchase one year, it gives you the £1.90 price. If you attempt to purchase any more than one year, it charges you standard price for each year (so first year discount isn't added). So one year would be £1.90, whereas two years would cost £12.28 (doesn't apply discount unfortunately). Fantastic for one year though, as you don't have to renew it, and it's actually set so that it doesn't auto-renew by default. Hope this helps :)

KiNG

how much is it the year after though ?

WTF is this deal about? Im confused...oO

Hawfinch

Seems a bit arbitrary to pick one name from the long list of SOPA supporters. To be consistent, you should also boycott Mastercard, Visa, Sony, Universal, Warner, EMI, Disney, etc, etc...

n00b

Interesting that you feel the need to comment without even understanding the situation. Go Daddy supported (and even drafted part of) SOPA. They are the only registrar to do this. Moving your domain and hosting away from them is showing you do not support SOPA and don't want to give your business to anyone who does.

The inventor of the internet? Are you referring to those who developed ARPAnet? Or the thousands of otrhers who were involved in the research, design and development of networked computer systems which evolved into the internet as we now know it?

Namecheap are one of the best domain name registrars in the business.

BE WARNED: They don't support registration of IDN (internationalized) domains I tried to buy IDN domain, it failed but they took money from my Paypal and no refund so now I'm trying to use their live chat to fix this: :| Ok they refunded me no problem (also offered to manually register IDN domain but I chosen another domain already)
