It's general run of the mill olive oil that should be this price in the first place but as it's not it's a good deal.

This isn't even general run of the mill oil. Is aimed at the general public that have no appreciation of it's natural qualities. Overpriced, commercialised, second rate oil. It's lower in monounsaturates than other cheaper olive oils and the greatest gimmick of all is its clear bottle. The oil will go bad at an accelerated rate relative to opaque amber/green glass bottles. Artificial Supermarket lighting and clear bottles are a bad combination.

Best buy in olive oil is the Aldi Spanish oil 750ml £2.49. Amber glass bottle, 71% monounsaturated fat. Is also less salty than its Italian counterpart and well suited to both Italian and Spanish cooking.

yeah but its italian, so always better (_;)

yeah but its italian, so always better

What baseless nonsense!

I've already explained why it isn't better. You obviously don't cook anything Spanish, but the origin is not important. For those that aren't aware of the existence of olives outside of Italy, or are afraid to try Olive oil that isn't labelled "Italian" then Aldi Italian Olive oil 750g for £2.49. Same opaque bottle, same higher monounsatureated content, not over advertised or over priced.

Greek, French and Israeli olive oil are nice too. All at similar prices if you know where to buy them.

Why have cotton when you can have silk?
