These single drive so called nas units are really no better than a shared usb drive on a network. It's all your eggs in one basket.

Save your money and re purpose and old pc or if you can afford it, a multi bay nas with like 3 or 4 bays minimum but preferably more, so you have some level of data redundancy. I wouldn't want to loose 16tb of data in one go, would you!
I think this one is 2x8TB drives which can work in RAID. Does an excellent job for basic network sharing and storage. (edited)

I have one of these, I have quickly outgrown it because it's not very powerful for Plex and it uses a web based version of Transmission for torrents which is awkward and annoying
synology and qnap will always be king for NAS apps like plex ms and torrent clients

Same price on amazon, where various discounts might apply, whereas WD state that codes are not usable on offers, and there was nowhere to put one anyway.
TCB would be valid at 10%.
The best for Amazon would be 4.94% via Cardyard (guaranteed, compared to TCB "I hope"), and then any other X off Y spend you might have acquired, so you could equal that 10% (just), but you get the Amazon service, and a better delivery speed (2 days).

There is an option on Amazon for a returned / used unit for £351.
2 available at time of posting.
Note - X off Y spending codes will not work with Amazon Warehouse sales. (edited)

Might need to go to specsavers

If you want a little extra control over what is inside, and don't mind a scratch, an empty used case on Amazon is £101 (new is £150), with new Iron Wolf 8TB Nas drives @ £151 each, or cheaper if you want used.
At this point, if buying any new, bits, the X off Y vouchers can be used, finishing off with the Cardyard discount.

I can see why folk are looking to switch to NAS from old (relatively power hungry) media servers, but I would also say stick with a Qnap or Synology.
I just have my unraid in sleep with network wakeup hooked up to alexa. pulling about 3 watts in sleep.

I bought the 12tb from Amazon Germany earlier in the year. Worked out at £250 after the customs charges were refunded just under 6 months later for some reason. I think the same at Amazon UK was about £420 at the time.

I have one of these I got a few months back im and im not too impressed by it. Its rather loud and seems to start up randomly.

You can set it to go into a sleep mode when inactive but the problem then is waking it up, as theres no power switch you have to unplug the power and plug it back in.

I got WD Mirror Cloud 2 Similar spec to this one only difference my 512 ram this one 1gb

For my need just to store on the LAN files it is ok Not so bad speed 1 GB lan full 100bmps giving
If someone have slow access " WD by default HDD power off function where first request always take 10-15 sec before HDD spins up This can be disabled but then HDD will spin all the time and use more energy "

For PLEX I agree they bad if you constantly adding removing content If you add and leave for while then it is ok
The issue with this NAS is plex on little CPU takes time before it is scan files etc .... NAS become unresponsive for while before it is process the files and if someone same time streaming they stream will be stopped because no data will be sent Plus NAS file share as well become slow I have checked CPU and it is peaking 100 % when adding content to plex

if you get this NAS for good price I can not complain much I know Qnap / Sinology have more functions etc but then NAS cost as well where WD with good deal this NAS cost similar as 2 separate HDD so basically NAS for free
