This is due for release this month, after watching planet earth etc, im sure this will get the most out of your blu ray player. This is the cheapest price ive found it if you use rac and quidco, as Amazon is a few pence cheaper without them.

It is now possible to relive all the most exciting moments in NASA's history. See the phenomenally powerful space rockets launch men into space. Experience the incredible sensation of the first spacewalk and watch in awe as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon for the very first time. Included are candid interviews with the astronauts, scientists and engineers who made it all happen.

This is a really good series!. I didn't realise you could get it in HD.

I think it will be awesome on Blu ray, i was sceptical about the difference of standard dvds and blu rays until I got a blu ray player. So now i look forward to seeing them on blu ray as you can see the difference.

i wouldnt be too sure about this one getting the most out of a blu-ray player, Planet earth was filmed in HD whereas the the video that will be used in this will be the original filmings from the missions which were before even dvd had taken off,

There may be a bit of CGI thrown in for good measure but i certainly wouldnt reccomend this as a blu-ray show stopper,

Voted hot though as i intend to buy this,

Also according to the website this is a HMV exclusive kinda weird as its on plenty of other sites aswell??

Good point Happy, but im sure it will make the footage look allot better than ever beofre, plus yeah maybe there will be some modern parts that can show off the quality.

I noticed that, a few sites have it so thats odd.

Plus its another to add to my collection.

A lot of this series is made up of original film footage so technically it was shot in HD. Mostly 35mm and some 16mm I believe. If taken from the master copies to be remastered for blu-ray it will no doubt look stunning and definitely FAR superior to dvd.

Exactly the point I was going to make. Obviously film itself isn't made of pixels, and has massive definition. The quality of the film may be poor (if it's literally old film) but if the Blu-Ray is properly mastered directly from the film (as Tony 'This is an outrage' Harrison said) the resolution should be there.

Really?

consider me taught lol

There are lots of reviews of the US version - been out a while over there

Take a look over at ]DVD-Basen for the reviews - I would presume they will be similar to our release

Most of them are good - not amazing from memory - been waiting for the US release to come up on for a decent price, but am still waiting so will now wait a little longer for the UK one to drop to say £20
