It is the modern way of selling i.e.double your prices, but have regular 50% off sales. Crazily this seems to work and people even perceive that the products are better quality than cheaper alternatives, simply because they are so expensive; think Nike trainers!

Totally agree, the world has gone mad! I’ve just picked up a bikini from New Look for £2, RRP was £26.99! Mental to think people actually paid this for a tiny piece of fabric, no better than what you’d find in Primark no doubt

Well, we are all tight asses on HUKD and so we still look great when we are wearing cheap bikinis; even the blokes! Waste of money paying full price.
I was looking at a bikini at Boux the other day, it was £16 in the sale, it’s now £15 with this offer (for the top part), I haven’t bought from Boux before - is it good quality? I.e if it £15 for just the top, I’d want it to last more than one summer

Not sure about swimwear but I stopped buying lingerie from there when the wires popped out from my bras... never happened before.

Currently wearing one from Debenhams that has that wire problem I hate replacing everything so frequently, I wish stuff would just last.

Honestly I’ve had this issue with places like Ann Summers, La Senza, Debenhams etc. I bought some standard T-Shirt bras from Primark for literally £2 each in black, white etc, and they are still in perfect condition! They stay their rightful colours, they fit nice, they’re comfortable and seem to be good quality, believe it or not! Nothing sexy (not these particular ones, just plain colours and basic) but for work or slobbing in the house etc they’re perfect.

Maybe I should brave the Primark busy-ness and go and try them on. Maybe I’ll give the Boux Avenue bikini a miss, it’ll still be £25 for the top and bottoms at the sale price and I’d be annoyed if it fell apart quickly

Worth a look - I only go after 6pm when I visit, weeknights are quietest! New Look also had a huge sale on; I’ve got a couple of bikinis last week for £2/£5 etc, and RRP was £25-£30!
