National Express 40% Off Code for only £2 at Groupon - valid for UK Return fares.

Refreshed 12th Mar (Posted 15th Feb)
If you’re planning to travel by coach, you can buy a code for £2 from Groupon that will give you 40% off UK Return fares with National Express.

The more your journey is going to cost, the more you save. Firstly I would check the price of your fare on the National Express, and work out for yourself if it's worth purchasing the Groupon for 40% off.

Validity: Must book by 31 Mar 2019. Expires 12 Apr 2019.
Purchase: Limit 1 per person. May buy 1 additional as a gift.

How do I book it?
  • If the standard National Express fare is cheapest, and you can save money, go to Groupon and pay £2 for your code.
  • You will be provided with a code, and you can book through this this National Express link
  • You will need to print your tickets and take them with you when travelling

Exclusions

Excludes airport routes. Valid for a standard single or return fare on scheduled UK services. Not valid for open return tickets. Journeys for more than 1 person must be booked as separate transactions, using a new Groupon each time. Not valid for online Restricted fares or any other promotional fares, or in conjunction with a National Express Coachcard. Excludes Heathrow hotel hoppa, festivals and events, European services, any third party coach operator services and packages including accommodation, admission or ferry travel.

As always with National Express to many restrictions

Don't forget to clear cookies before going back to NE website......in the past some fares increased each time you went back to their site although I haven't used them for years now.

Try easybus
do not buy virtually nothing in the promotion

£2 is already 40% of a one way fare..

I don't remember national express ever being cheaper with a return, trains are sometimes cheaper return though.

Ditto??? Think so. I'll stick to Megabus!
Hate this company. Got to the bus just before it set off (I know, my bad) and asked to get on, showed the driver my ticket and he flat-out refused to let me on. Even though the bus was stationary and I already had a ticket. So I had to hurriedly arrange a series of train tickets at great expense to get halfway across the country, even though I was standing directly in front of the bus talking to the driver. All because the driver was on a flipping power trip
WATCH OUT, AIRPORT ROUTES NOT INCLUDED!
Anyone know how to use the Coupon??? How to put it in on the site? Many thanks!
Buy a Railcard to get cheap fares and book well in advance and only use this lot if ur absolutely desperate.
I bought these not knowing it's only for standard fares. This is a problem. The standard fares are significantly more than the cheap or restricted fares. Basically it was cheaper for me to use the cheapest fare than use this "40% saving". Just check before you buy

Hi
look on Google because I have no idea and don't it tell you..?
Never been on National Express, there is a £2.10 fare to Leeds.
Will I end up with someone sat next to me? (ie. you have to sit in your allocated seats and they are allocated in sequence)

I think further in the T & Cs it says singles can be bought with this too

I did try to purchase with the £5 free credit offer (spend over £1) but this wasn't eligible! lol

Because it was past the departure time, even though the bus hadn't set off yet
This deal is a waste of time...you can ONLY use it on standard tickets...there's cheaper tickets online and you'll honestly save about £2 quid if you don't do it this way and just pay for a cheaper ticket without insurance etc etc

I know, I bought this deal for trips to Nottingham and another to Edinburgh. It worked out far cheaper to NOT use these vouchers, like @ £35 cheaper!
