Take the National Express when your life's in a mess
It'll make you smile
All human life is here
From the feeble old dear to the screaming child
From the student who knows that to have one of those
Would be suicide
To the family man
Manhandling the pram with paternal pride
And everybody sings 'ba ba ba da'
We're going where the air is free

On the National Express there's a jolly hostess
Selling crisps and tea
She'll provide you with drinks and theatrical winks
For a sky-high fee
Mini-skirts were in style when she danced down the aisle
Back in '63 (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
But it's hard to get by when your arse is the size
Of a small country
And everybody sings 'ba ba ba da'
We're going where the air is free
Tomorrow belongs to me

When you're sad and feeling blue
With nothing better to do
Don't just sit there feeling stressed
Take a trip on the National Express, the National Express, let's go!

Have not seen the £1 funfares for a moment. Did a few journeys to Manchester and Leeds back in 2016 when they offered it. They have even increased the booking fee from 50p to £1.

It isn't that bad if you are going for the first time and want to explore. One of the journeys I got off at the Airport and took the Tram to see places around Manchester.

Did most of this journey a couple of weeks back. Plenty of spare seats, leg room and air-conditioning. Nice to be able to unwind rather than slogging through the roadworks myself, arrived incredibly relaxed and with the money savings it was well worth the extra couple of hours in my eyes.
pack your bags love, we're going to Birmingham!

so ok... if not coach what kind of transport you recommend for peoples earning aprox. £50-60 per day (minimum wage) ,who can't afford to pay for train £40 one way train tickets..?
As soon as Sn-ap expand to Manchester and Birmingham, it's gonna be game over for National Express. Much better experience and price imo.

I did a longer journey, it was the worst experiance, should of payed more for Train or Plane
The coach is great, as long as no one sits next to you

Although, I'm not sure if that's even a thing anymore, as I think they fill them to capacity now?

I did further journey both ways about a year ago I thought oh im saving half the cost of a train this is a no brainer

The journey to London was literal torture since I couldn't sleep and it had no wifi, i didn't bring enough food (my fault)

The journey back wasn't that bad though since I slept through 90% of the journey

I guess it won't be too bad if you bring enough food and you take sleeping pills

just see it as a lottery ticket..............if its jam packed............then not so great...........but sometimes there's only a few bodies on the coach (dead and alive) so you can space out man....................much cheaper than the great train robbery!

Bet it was interesting.
I can get a cheap coach out for me and the kids (Portsmouth to London) for £8.40 but the return tickets are all far my expensive.
Ok if you live in a major city but if you live in a village you have to walk to the next one or rely on a pony and trap.
Trying to get to London on the bank holiday weekend from Newcastle. Any suggestions?
