got this before christmas - great deal - still waiting on the fleece & I keep getting invoices for £29 - even though you pay up front!

last time this deal came around, many said the fleece was of poor quality, not sure if anyone can confirm this? But NG is a fantastic mag so £15 for 12 months sub is still a great deal.

This will make a great fathers day gift! Thanks x

If it is the fleece I got with the same deal years ago, the material is pretty thin. It does have a cool NG logo on and you can tell people you are a polar explorer going on a Nat Geo expedition, albeit in a very thin fleece. £15 for the mag is a great deal, but you will be inundated with junk mail and more subscription offers for years to come. A nice birthday present for someone though.

Done this for several years now - let your subscription expire, wait a couple of months and then get it for this super rate. As for the fleece. Well, I ended up with about 3 of these, none of which ever get used as they are very poor quality - off to the charity shop they went, but nevertheless £15 for such an interesting publication with photographs that are a in a league of their own is worth every single penny. Get it, you won't be disappointed!

fantastic mag well worth the £15. Fleece is terrible.

Good deal but they really got to revamp the sub model, I've joined over 2 months ago and still waiting for my first issue or anything in terms of confirmation for one!

I would have gone for this before reading the comments about the fleece and the magazine not turning up and extra payments being taken.

Seems like a good deal. Just a point - any fleece, poor quality or not, will usually fit under some other jacket/coat to add to a layer system of outerwear.

Second fleece i have had p1ss poor quality good for making dusters sent direct from China, as previous poster has said ok for wearing under other garments.
Magazines are ok but very small format not at all like they used to be (approx A5) but for £15 i would recommend.

To say the fleece is of poor quality is an understatement. My toilet roll is thicker.
BUT - £15 for an annual subsciption to NG is awesome, and worth every penny.

I ordered this in December and still waiting for both the fleece and the magazine - not very happy! Order it quickly if you need it by a certain date. Was told 6-8 weeks wait then had another postcard for a subsequent 6-8 weeks.

Fabulous magazine with awesome photography and the subscription is worth every penny.

However, the fleece is certainly thinner than any toilet roll and is so full of chemicals that I wouldn't wipe my b*m with it!!8)

What is the single issue price normally ? Is it published monthly ?

The fleece is utter crap - I'd heard it was poor quality but I was hoping it'd be alright. It went straight in the bin. It's thin, slightly awkward looking and it is not stylish at all in my opinion!

However, for the price, this is an excellent deal for a quality publication. Heat added

Like anyone bought it for the free fleece...

I signed up in Jan(I think), still waiting for first issue oO, although I have received confirmation email, and a little postcard.

The fleece is not worth it. If you decide on getting the subscription, do not account for the fleece and avoid disappointment. Very thin material shipped directly from China. The subscription is fabulous.

Thanks! Perfect timing - my Tesco Clubcard point subscription for NG ran out this month!
Cheers(_;)

I subscribed to this on the last offer. The magazine is great and easily worth £15 for 12 issues. The fleece is apalling and went straight into the bin. Really, it is truly awful, unworthy of the magazine which is fab-Hot!

National Geographic for 15 GBP is fine. Don't have any high hopes on the fleece. It's just crap, cheap chinese material.

Thanks for this great deal! It has been featured over on the HUKD blog ]Playpennies!

Funnily enough just received my first issue which was ordered 07/02/11 although took about a week for that email with confirmation date to arrive so almost 2 months for it all to kick in. Magazine itself is good and I prefer the small format so all in for £15 a year a cracking little sub.

Exactly the same thing here. Frankly ridiculous.
