Thanks OP will be visiting a local attraction this weekend and agreed Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a fantastic place to visit and so much to see for all ages. At £28 adult ticket It is a huge saving. Get Park and Ride to the quay then your basically there also a very short walk you are in Gunwharf quay with discounted designer shops and lots of places to eat. Just to add SW train also stops by the quay area if you don't drive.
This is fantastic, my daughter and I love going to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. I thought it was lucky that we could visit for free last thursday because the Queen was there, however we only had time to go around the Mary Rose museum. So now we can go look round all the other new displays. And the harbour tour is included! Yay! OP have some major heat from me! (highfive)
Great for visiting the paid sites but all the Glasgow venues are free to visit at any time.
Thanks, and totally agree of course. Having not read it closely I hadn't realised the standard ticket included revisits for 1 year! That now explains why some friends of mine gave me negative feedback on the cost benefit (i.e. if you only want to visit once £17.50 is apparently a rip-off as far as they are concerned - if you plan to dip in and out of it over the year I guess £17.50 is a bargain, which will be why the other half seem to love the place!)
There used to be some good free places to visit near to us but since they received a bit of lottery funding (for a little cafe of something), they have since started charging for entry.
