Nature journal, one of the most popular peer reviewed science journals worldwide are doing a promotion that will give you a 1 year subscription for £38 instead of £135.

1 copy per week will be sent to the address you specify working out to roughly £0.75 a copy instead of £2.65 which is the standard subscription fee.

The end date reads as the 30/09/2013, this seems like a long time so I would snap it up ASAP as it does state that the offer is subject to change (as they all are).

They add 10% VAT as 50% of the subscription is online access.

Ordered. Was looking at this at 1/2 price for those in education. Not sure why teachers and students would need with a magazine about people playing volleyball in the buff? Well if there is at least one good shot of a young Babs Windsor doing early morning exercise then it will be worth 40 quid. And fling!!!

£38, €38 or $38 - good value as it is, we're getting stiffed again compared to the rest of the world...

Does anyone other than students and academics read this? Surely there is free access through schools and universities?

**** universities wont give you free access, but i'm sure there are people like me who have finished in academia now yet would still like to have access to some journals, although nature is a bit broad for me tbh, if it were nature chemistry I might buy a subscription for this price though

How do you figure, you get paid in the pound, you pay less tax than a lot of European countries and the cost of living is lower than some (granted not many but some).

wow, this is a phenomenal saving, around a third of the price if my maths isnt failing me (which it normally does)

Has anyone received their copy yet?

Yes. Just reading a perspective article on Van der Waals heterostructures
