Just bought this from Argos (Ebay) and wanted to check everything was AOK before posting here.

First thing; this is listed as 'manufacturer refurbished' on Argos website. That means it still comes with a full 12 month guarantee. However, when it arrived today it was brand new. Even the box was in mint condition.

Second thing; it doesn't mention on Argos site that this has European maps but it does. Bonus.

Third thing; it doesn't mention that this comes with free map updates for two years. However, I googled this satnav before purchasing and sourced this information. When I had charged it I logged on to the Navigon website and installed the software update and then went to download my free map updates. It did say, 'sorry this expired on 21/05/2011' so I phoned Navigon (local call) and spoke to a nice chap in Sweden and after I explained that I had only bought it today he appologised and asked for my login name and then said, 'Don't worry sir, I'll fix that for you straight away'; and true to his word he did.

Proper chuffed with this very decent satnav with the free updates and European travelling for just £37.98.

NAVIGON 20 Easy: excellent navigation device in small format from the award winners NAVIGON

This navigation device is small, but perfectly equipped. The NAVIGON 20 Easy has a 3.5" display (8.9-cm diagonal span) and several useful functions that make navigating easier, even in hectic situations. With One Click Menu, you can reveal or hide your three favourite special destinations. This leaves more space for the most important thing: the map. The Active Lane Assistant ensures calm and predictive driving at turns thanks to a dynamic travelling animation of the current stretch of road.

NAVIGON MyBest POI

I installed updates really easily about an hour ago

Nice spot, add some heat me thinks.....

Sounds great Andy nice one I bet it looks good in that new car

Heat for you

bought a sat nav last week from Halfords, spend £120 - Link here came with free lifetime updates etc. This Navigon is a decent price for those not wanting to spend a lot and won't use it regularly. Bonus that it has lane guidance and 2 years free updates. ONLY downfall will be the screen size for this.

Seriously, if you have an Android phone, get Co-Pilot Western Europe over something like. Alot more convenient and marginally cheaper, with 1 years traffic alerts. Works like a dream on my SGS2. Obviously its not as good as a top end dedicated TomTom but its better than these cheapo sat navs and alot more convenient.

Cheap but reviews says it take 10-15 mins (which is hard to beleive) to pick up a signal and battery only last 30 mins.

Picked up a signal within a minute and not to fussed about battery as I'll use the cigarette lighter slot. Although reviews I've read say battery is an hour.

If I hadn't just updated the maps on my old Binatone to something more TomTom-y I might have snapped this up. 2 years updates is a bonus too.

Orrrrrrrdddeerreeed!!!

that's exactly what I have experienced with my Navigon 1210 - 15-20 minutes of waiting, loosing signal unexpectedly, nasty piece of crap. Had to send it twice to service (in Germany) .Good Navteq maps if it works, though.

If you want to spend nothing, and have android. Navfree from the android market is amazing for no money. I used it all the way the south of France and back, no issues. Maps are bang up to date. Much recommended.

I have got the Navigon 20 Easy, which I bought from Argos Clearance Bargains in Corby a few months ago (for the grand sum of £21) and I have used it every day since. I also own a TomTom 720, but I prefer the Navigon because it has TMC built in and if you search around on the net you can find the files that give you premium TMC and also text to speech, speed cameras, curve warning and you can load your own POIs. When I switch it on before I leave in the mornings, it takes 5-10 secs to get a satellite lock and only a few seconds more to get traffic information. You can choose whether it automatically re-routes you, or lets you decide. So all in all a great bit of kit for £21. I also bought a Hama mount which allows me to put it onto my Harley as well and being 3.5" screen it doesn't look out of place.

"Free" map updates for 2 years? The website says 80% discount on maps for 2 years. I have one and can confirm that the first map update within 30 days of purchase is free, not for 2 years.

Deffo ordered as sounds like a bargain too me

good value, although it won't be 'brand new' as you stated (and should remove), factory refurbs usually come re-packaged and sealed, but it won't be a new unit...just wanted to point that out to people so they don't get mislead.

Hot, ordered two, but Argos take the p**s by charging me two lots of postage.

Ordered hope it's ok for Cyprus

Listing now ended...:(

Did you install 'Navigon Fresh'? and then connect to 'My System'? They were all there for me

Try phoning them tomorrow Flombard; that's what I did and the chap asked for my email address that was registered to Navigon and he literally fixed it so I could download there and then. Took him about 20 seconds.

Received mine today, no Europe maps and no free updates... Flombard, any joy?

Mine came but I was out so it is left at my concierge, Ill get it tomorrow or Wednesday... but not liking the sound of this no Europe maps, I already got a UK sat nav so this wouldn't be good for me if true

I have got it, it says on the box maps only of the UK.. should I just send it back without opening ?

Original Poster mod

Odd; the one I received is clearly for Europe

You deffo got lucky

Put me in the same bunch as unhappybunny & Flombard. No Europe maps here...

Annoying as one of the questions about this item asks if it has western europe maps and the reply for argos is 'yes'.

Ho hum. back it goes then.

Was a bit of a punt anyway as have an old working one for the UK, but the extra coverage + some of the features + 2 years maps made me think it's be worth it.

No Europe maps for me. Called the customer service today and they asked me to send the invoice which says "2 yrs free map updates and Europe maps". It doesnt say anywhere in the invoice. I am gonna return it back .
Edited by: "krisbal" 18th Sep 2012

I too was foolish enough to buy it based on the description on HUKD. I received one with no European maps, no updates for UK maps a corrupted pdf instruction manual and a poor interface. It's going back.

To be fair to the OP, there is an argos 'question' tab on the listing, and questions is "does this have western europemaps" to which they answer "yes"

So its not out of the realms of mis-sold

Good and fair point. I've returned it.
