AC/DC Convertor
Navman iCN 530 does not come with an AC charger in the box so you can only use your iCN 530 whilst in the car. Why not add this excellent AC/DC Convertor to your basket so you can set-up routes, import POI's and charge your unit from home, for only £4.95.

I agree, and spend that extra fiver on a home charger as recommended
P.s I was going to buy a tomtom from them but the £20 dixons voucher could not be passed over.

You are correct gpsk handtec are very competitive in there prices, although you may have an even higher price to pay for the service they offer.
I personally have endurred a absolute nightmare week because of this company and I am still waiting for a satisfactory resolution. Would I recommend you to buy from them - well, if your house-bound maybe and if you are not you soon would be!.:x

Sorry to hear that you have had a bad time with handtec. Although Global Positioning Systems remain the cheapest supplier of the ICN530, PCWorld is selling it for £249.99 in their stores and I think their box includes the traffic module which would otherwise cost you around £60. Mind you, I have the traffic module and I am not that impressd so far.

I had the Icn 610 then moved upto this one and the T1 traffic module a couple of months ago here are my views

because of the new sirfstar 111 chip it locks onto the signal very quickly even indoors

sound on the unit is very poor I had to fit an external speaker to hear the voice commands properly even worse you cannot hear the warning "bong" for the traffic cameras, also after speaking to Navman because the actual sound files are read only you cannot update them yourself and Navman have no intentions for an update in the near future

sent me on some very strange routing options

you cannot change the voices apart from turning them into american

you cannot change map colours

the T` traffic module is a complete waste of time at the moment dont buy it until the service is improved its a waste of money

I really wanted to like this after my loyal 610 but was very disappointed with it and after 2 months with it bit the bullet and bought a Tomtom 510 which I hat to admit it but knocks spots off the 530

Hope this helps

in London would often lose gps fix even with an external antenna in areas where my 610 didnt

I did initialy intend to buy from Global Positioning Systems but at the time I wanted to place my order they were nil stock & handtec looked like the next best thing - or so I thought. I guess it will teach me a lesson - "Fools Rush In"

on the other hand I have had brilliant service. Was tempted by Globalpositioningsystems offer as they were a few bob cheaper. But after speaking to Handtec they explained that their system for a few pounds more included street maps of Europe!!.

went for the T1 bundle and had it delivered to my work address under 24hrs.

Also had opted for the 2-3 days free delivery but still arrived under 24hrs.

My order was also great service, I was so pleased I was recommending them.
It was only when the supplied unit needed to be returned because it was faulty the problems started. I will not fully condemn them until they have had a reasonable time to come to a satisfactory resolution. (4 days according to there terms).
