Nearly new VW Golf - from £12488 @ Arnold Clark

Soccer moms and wannabe middle class rejoice, the Golf here is available at a surprisingly low price, especially for diesel. No idea about the details, but its not often nearly new Golfs are offered at sensible money.

1.6 TDI, semi reasonable interior features etc. It maybe a tremendously dull car, but folk sure do love them there Golfs, and in all fairness they are superb vehicles.

Not one for me but hopefully somebody may find some use in this deal.

what does nearly new mean? 1 week 1 month 1 year?

Usually vehicles with either as little as delivery miles, or up to around 12k. I guess anyone who is after a Golf would make enquiries with Arnold Clark for absolute specifics

If you go through the link it says 63 plate, so it must be at least 1 year old

Right this isn't a deal this is a vw dealer selling second hand vw cars at the price a vw would sell for.. I'd imagine a couple years old and high millage. This is no different to any other dealer and doesn't constitute a deal by any means

It also says from £12k so somehow u can count out a 63 plate being that price unless it has many thousands of miles on the clock.

I guess that's why I used the term "at least" sound like one of the deals that companies use to get you to call and reel you in.

Excellent work Colombo, keep enjoying that gold Austin Maestro you think is "kickin' rad".

Its about the same price as you would pay for nearly new at a main dealer for a Polo. This is for a Golf.

Thing is people have got to remember a main dealer is always more expensive so there will be a catch here. If it was brand new then I could see the deal but getting a year old or even 18month old car with 40,000 miles on leaving only 20k miles of manufacture warrantee doesn't then seem so appealing,

Isn't 63 plate sept 13- march 14?

Yeah but that also doesn't say that car is 12k so I'd forget all about it being a 63 plate.

More liquid gold here bro. IF IFONE 6 WUZ £80 IS GUD DEAL, BUT FOR £245!!! NO WAY!!111!!

p.s. Moto G is almost £12,428 cheaper than this. Voted cold.

Looks like a deal for a 63 plate to me.

Although it's from £12,488. There won't be many available for that sort of money.

Maybe but would u rather buy a polo with 14k miles on it or a golf with maybe upwards of 40k miles on it. I think you're missing the point I can probably buy a Ferrari for 12k doesn't mean it's gonna work or be in pristine condition.

Ouch. My forehead and palm, much blisters

Probably ex hire cars though YMMV. Not voting either way.

I was replying to the comment of 63 plate being at least a year old?

Google Arnold Clark horror stories.

this is the cheapest golf they do..18k on the clock..

who wants an over priced, over hyped, unreliable ( yes I said it) VW anyway? its a rich mans Skoda..

VW are living on past glories. They routinely use sub standard parts with high failure rates so the dealer can charge a fortune to replace them at inflated labour cost.

People's perception is VW is a premium product therefore they will pay over the odds to get them fixed..

These are probably ex-lease cars

Year old base models, I'm thinking ex-rental.

I'd rather drive a Yugo than buy from Arnold Clark.

Arnold Clark have had a 2012 BMW 320d Luxury model for sale on Autotrader for a few months now. I phoned about it a month ago & was told 'sorry now sold'. Reported it 7 times but it's still listed. As stated in earlier post Google Arnold Clark for some horror stories!

12k on a second hand car? Wouldnt buy a Golf...

The prices are pretty much the same as Motorpoint for a same spec car, 63 plate with a similar mileage.

HertVR sounds like the type of person who everybody hates at work (Colin Hunt anyone?)

Arnold Clark. Run like feck to the hills. Would not touch with a barge pole.
