Rechargeables are fine but they have the downside of turning off immediately without warning when they have run out of juice. Disposable batteries (please remember to dispose of them correctly everyone) get progressively dimmer which at least gives you a warning that you need to replace them. Many times a rechargeable torch has run out unexpectedly and left me floundering in the dark under a car bonnet or similar.
True but the reason most people who prefer battery powered torches actually prefer them is cause if you're out in the wilderness (or have no way of charging it) is you can carry spare batteries and just replace them.

I prefer not to use a torch to see whats inside my pocket. I like to just use my hand and guess. Sometimes I get a bit of a treat
What a silly comment, obviously it means that the torch is 'pocket sized'.

Good price but the fact it takes batteries Vs rechargeable built in battery is a no deal for me.

    Have some heat
    It says
    • Flex Power (Powered by either 2 AAA batteries or 1 10850 750mAh rechargeable battery included)

So I think it is rechargeable as well as taking batteries?

I am not 100% sure I have got this right but I believe there are two options with the more expensive £14.99 option being labelled RC (rechargeable). Therefore the £7.99 version will not be rechargeable. Thoughts? (edited)

RC models seems a better choice as 4x zoom vs 3x) and also twice as bright at 360 lumens vs 180.

Not voted either way - but thanks OP!
    for £8 ?

In two minds? Here's the first review I found:

"Ideal to I’ll out of your inside Coker if this is need in your profession. Excellent quality and an adjustable light spread to fit every use".

That should clear up any doubts.

    Stanley unwin at it again

Thanks @SelfScanStan - looks a good deal to me - can never have enough torches :-) - voted hot!
Of course you can, eventually they would 'clutter' the house. (edited)

Costco has started selling a 3000 lumen torch. Takes 3xC batteries or a supplied rechargeable.

I have a version of this from RS, looks identical. It’s a decent enough pen torch.

Had a Big Larry torch for 5 years.
    Very bright and rugged.
Just purchased Big Larry Pro, rechargeable.
    Very happy with the purchase.

I don't see what the fuss is about. I have rechargeable AAA batteries that I would use if I bought this. I could then bring spares if I was camping whereas you couldn't bring spares necessarily if you got one with an inbuilt rechargeable battery.

So the description is misleading @MrSwitch as it should be £19.90 (gone up!) for the rechargeable version described in the description

Have I got this right? (edited)
No mate, the price is right, I just didn't proof read, i will change that, sorry about that, totally my fault nothing to do with op
