This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

These offers have reappeared yet again, only from 20-26 June.

Virgin you could book Manchester to Stockport or Coventry to Birmingham International for example, and LNER you can book Haymarket to Edinburgh.

Transpennine is 10x normal amount of nectar points.

Just keep an eye out for the points as Nectar are notoriously bad at paying bonus points on time, if at all.

I currently have 6K outstanding with Virgin/LNER and expecting to have have to chase at least 2/3K of them !

Just make sure you're buying tickets on a virgin/lner service. Lots of operators sell tickets through their sites but won't earn you any points (either base or bonus points)
Does anyone know what the £1 fares are? Thanks

A child ticket Haymarket to Edinburgh (Waverly) on LNER is cheap. Just make sure it's an LNER service and set a reminder for when the points are due as they rarely work automatically but chat with customer service usual gets them added pretty quickly.
Why the Sainsbury pic?
Manage to get mine for 85p

Wild goose chase imo.
Bought from virgin trains previously but points not honoured.

Then you either did something wrong or didn't chase the points

I've done these types of deals a lot and got the points every time (albeit I had to nudge them a few times)
Booked a child ticket costing £1.25 this is the lowest priced ticket I could find.. Nothing been for a pound for long.
You have to weigh up the cost/time factor. Spend £1.25, get £5 back, but be prepared to chase. That might take 5 mins, it might take longer dependent upon who the c/s is at the other end. Some will dispute the points, some will say the offer wasn't on your account, some will ask for screenshots of the offer to prove you had it. It's not always easy to get them.
I've had all of these when chasing points. It really is poor that you have to chase them in the first place !

Out of my last 26 purchases accruing bonus points, 11 have been paid later than the T&Cs dictate, 5 have had to be chased after not being paid more than 7 days late. I have however eventually received all that were due, but only through persistence.

yes £1 plus BUT

some of them ARE LNER traIns even if the example is not - you just have to choose one of the scheduled times displaying the red LNER symbol that cost £1.25

personnally I can understand why people ignore this way of using the deal offer because of the hassle of chasing the points - people dont want to spend precious time chasing £5 worth of nectar points having spent £1.25 un-necessarily

Another thing I found was that after registering with LNER & making my first booking (usaing this deal) I was sent a 30% off any LNER ticket offer - I then later discovered that getting from my main home in hertfordshire to lancaster on an LNER train via Leeds could be done cheaper than the route normally listed when you do a search (ie into London then virgin west coast train)

the only train operators I can find for the LNER offer £1.25 Haymarket to Edinburgh ticket are Scotrail or Virgin am I doing something wrong ?

Thank you for your help
Very welcome...
If you want to book a cheap ticket just to get the 1000 points its a waste of time having to go through the order process to find its not with the correct provider. Nectar/Sainsbueys should be ashamed of such a promotion which can so easily be booked in expectation of the points but so easy not to qualify
I dont get this post...can someone explain it to me??

Buy a cheap LNER train service ticket get 1k nectar points. Simples.
I would just add that on my Nectar 1000 points offer for Virgin Trains on this booking period I have a terms & conditions which says 'minimum spend £8' so worth checking your individual terms & conditions. My LNER offer has no such spend criteria.

Ditto that. No points paid, and after an hour+ on live chat, got an apology, but told further investigations needed. Too much time and effort for a net £3.75. Don't recommend this 'deal' or Nectar in general.
I've not had any points for the last 7 or so promos I've entered into via the Nectar website.

Don't book with the wrong provider. It's as simple as that

Is it 28 days when points should be added to your account?

I think it's normally around that got these offers What do the T&C's say? Haven't bothered with these offers for a while as not worth the time and effort chasing points unless I'm actually making a train journey so haven't looked this time.
Same issue as others that these "bonus" nectar offers are seldom awarded without chasing up via chat. However with Sainsbury's taking over the operation hopefully they'll inject some efficiency into the operation
I took advantage of this deal last month and got the points no problem. Can somebody please confirm if I need to create a brand new account to do it again?

Even though that’s on the LNER website, it says valid on Cross Country services only, so you might not get the points
Is this UP TO 1000 bonus points? Only I seem to have been awarded 25 bonus points from Virgin Trains.

I'll try not to spend it all at once

Same here.i booked a ticket in Birmingham and ended up only receiving 25 points.i think where we went wrong was that we didn't book on a virgin train.although it was their website but not their train.well that's the mistake that I definitely did make and looking at other posts it seems the case.just received another offer for 750 points so I booked a child seat in Edinburgh for £1.25 on a virgin train at around 8pm.hopefully receive the points this time.but if I don't no damage done.it just means one less bottle of pepsi this week.

I'm sure I was careful to make sure it was a Virgin Train, with the logo next to the time slot. Proof will be in the pudding with your next one, if it's anything under the advertised amount then it's 'up to' xxxx points...

That was probably the 25 points for watching the TV ad. Expect this one to show up 2-3 weeks after the promotion finished
Anyone had their points credited yet ?
Not me.
Nor me..

They applied the 1000 points while on live chat but they did insist on screenshots of booking.

Weren't very nice and were playing dumb on existence of offer.
If they ask me for screenshots I'll tell them where they can stick them. Con artists.
