    Rubbish!

Its swings and roundabouts, I have found all the major Supermarkets can be dearer than each other on different products and at different times.

Sainsburys are cheaper on branded products than Tesco, Asda.
Sainsburys have far more BOGOF offers.
Sainsburys have a much better quality food range on their own brand products.

how the hell have you managed over 160,000 points, mental

We have the triple points promo due taking pet, and contents insurance from Sainsbury's, this is capped at 5000 extra points a month, but we spend £70 a week on fuel and do both ours and the in-laws shopping there too, it easily gets to 8 or 9000 points a month.

Do surveys - Usually 50-150points each, though many specialist websites pay twice more; and post out reward vouchers.
    Sign up to Adpoints - 250bonus points + 250max points/week
Install the toolbar - initial bonus (100 points?) plus 100 points a month
Buy via Nectar for eBay purchases - unltd (I think?)
Insurance coming up? Confused.com it for £10 of points
Signup to eShops/Fashion outlet emails - 100 points each, then unsubscribe
Nectar homepage often features bonus points offers for answering a few questions
Look out on here for links to crafty schemes people have unearthed for bonus points

I've amounted £25.76 in just a couple of months, not spent a penny in store. Wasn't hard graft either.

Clearly Sainsburys don't agree with you - if they are so much cheaper … Clearly Sainsburys don't agree with you - if they are so much cheaper than the others then why do they have the most restrictive price guarantee of the big 3?I can't say I really notice much difference between Basics, Everyday Value and Smart Price (and would be surprised if a lot of them weren't identical) but I definitely notice it being significantly more expensive than ASDA on most of the stuff I buy. Fresh fruit and vegetables for example are almost always significantly more than ASDA. I only ever go in there because they have a good frozen vegetarian range and their doughnuts are delicious!

But Asda groceries are verging on inedible. I wouldn't feed their stuff to my dog Rover

Do they do this offer in other stores? or is it just sainsburys?

    Wow! Brilliant.............. luv it

We collect nectar points throughout the year and spend at xmas, normally cash in £150 to £200 every year. I hope they do this Double Value Promotion again at end of year.......

Been shopping at Sainsburys for over 20 years, been collection points ever since the Nectar scheme started (11 odd years I think)....................... so £800 for us would be 4 years collecting........................

You obviously don't use ebay much if you think the only bargains are in … You obviously don't use ebay much if you think the only bargains are in the auctions. Set saved searches and see what comes up - you can regularly get things cheaper on buy it now than in auctions. Why people list buy it now items at low prices, I do not know (or care) - but they do.I imagine that Darth is buying furniture or bikes or something like that. They often go for peanuts on ebay because people can't be bothered messing around with vans etc. If you then sell something like this in a local shop offering delivery then you could easily sell it for 2x or 3x the ebay sell price. Same with faulty items which have easy fixes.I buy many things on ebay purely to sell on. It's usually £25 profit here and there, because I can't pass up a bargain. Just a bit of fun, but I often think that if I spent 40 hours a week on it, I could make a reasonable living out of it.

Thank you for that, you've summed it up in a nutshell. The people saying it's impossible to make money this way really have no idea what they are talking about...

...and long may their ignorance continue
  17. Boony2310's avatar
So 500 points will be worth £5 instead of the usual £2.50
Hot if true, I've got 22,000 points burning a hole in my pocket.
We usually save them up during the year, and they pay for the shopping over Christmas.
But will no doubt spend them all when this kicks in, it's simply too good to miss.

Thanks for the heads up OP

Will probably be like the Argos fiasco they will allow Gift Cards for a few days till all the people on here have done stupid amounts then clamp down on it, spoiling it for the bulk of people that only want to do a couple of quids worth. So hopefully NO they don't do Gift Cards to save everyone disappointment

Actually I get the points, my boss has his own card and his own stock … Actually I get the points, my boss has his own card and his own stock buying account on eBay so combined we've probably made 300k in points. Don't forget some times there are triple point offers on.It's a simple business, buy low and sell high on consumer goods. It's a pretty common set-upI asked Nectar's PR team what the record was and they said someone earned 570k in points last year, they're probably doing something similar to us as no-one spends that kind of money at Sainsbury's

Sellers and business sellers sell their stock on ebay, they do not tend to buy their stock from ebay as the profit margin is low.

Do you not have a supplier, business partner where you buy stock DIRECT from a wholesale supplier. If you are spending roughly £12,000 a month buying stock on ebay, your profit margin and turn-over must be very poor especially in todays climate.

Whats the turn around on selling these products ? once these products have been purchased, delivered and received in Back-door etc, how soon are items sold and sent out to the customer ? etc..............

You need to buy wholesale at wholesale prices to sell on ebay, not buy on ebay paying Seller & Business Seller prices, ..................... I find this all very hard to believe, I;m sorry...........

People do spend £1000's a week on ebay, some of the big retailers clear … People do spend £1000's a week on ebay, some of the big retailers clear items at ridiculously low prices. Most of the items are gone within seconds of posting so obviously the buyers are watching the sites through the day. As these buyers tend to have private ebay id's i don't think they are going to give too much away on here.

No No No! I am asking for DarthBlingBling ebay shop where he and his boss sell their purchased items, he can then have more customers who may visit and buy, more profit coming his way etc etc............... lol

............. as for ebay auctions ending quick, thats only the BUY IT NOW which are not set at low prices to make any profit on. Auction listings are where a bargain can be had, but normally this is for the general ebay user to bag a bargain. Heavy ebay business sellers donot make any profit watching an item for 7 to 10 days bidding against the general public.....

You need to go to all the large physical auctions where you stand and bid in person to locate and build up your stock at low cost price, you also need to visit large warehouses to buy pallets of goods at wholesale prices, you need several contacts to gain a decent steady buying guide, local auctions, also buy from local selling adds.

There are plenty of bankrupt stock warehouse clearance auctions in London where most new, used, factory seconds goods are sold and then resold on ebay via the 3rd party seller.............................. Spending £12000 each month buying stock on ebay to sell on ebay really isn't going to work................ lol

I'm failing to see why you're having a hard time grasping this as it's a pretty common practice for small eCommerce businesses who can't buy in huge bulk from wholesalers.

No ebay is a place for the general public to sell their unwanted items, be it car, Sofa, pair of shoes, TV etc. ebay has taken over the old school of adverting where people once posted in local Classified ads newspaper etc. Now the general public can advertised with the benefit of a auction listing where items get sold just the same..............

Shops, Retailers and business can also take advantage of selling new and used goods/products as ebay is a powerful selling machine, its a place for business sellers or people who want to make a profit to sell goods, not buy goods................ lol

Just post up your ebay selling shop, its simple.........

I can't see this myself. When Tesco double the value of their vouchers, they have a captive audience. The vouchers are Tesco vouchers gained through Tesco businesses. Nectar points are gained and can be used in multiple places. Why would Sainsbury's offer to double the value of points you've gained shopping elsewhere? Isn't it more likely that they mean they're going to double the value of points you collect from Sainsbury's between these dates (i.e. give you double points) - or am I being too sceptical?? Being vague about it certainly seems to have achieved their aim of stirring up interest though.

The nature of our deals means a site like this is of no use to us as we aim to maximise sale price not be the cheapest. Also we deal in used goods so to date we have yet to purchase anything from here with the aim to re sell. Probably does happen though, it's why some businesses only allow one or two sales per customer when a deal is on.

Nearest store participating is almost an hours drive (Lincoln)

T&Cs seem far too restrictive. Going to have to think before exchanging as not sure I'd want £10 worth of unwanted frozen goods in my freezer, let alone £50 or other multiples of 10. I'm not a usual Sainsbury's shopper, and this doesn't exactly warm me to their brand!

If you're reading this PR department, better luck next time.

    Sincerely,
