If you want multi room at up on the cheap with wifi and bluetooth then think of Pure Jongo A2 to pair and link wirelessly all your speakers at home. have got 7 of them plus others all linked together. Please note it doesn't do lossless via bluetooth as lower spec bluetooth bit works fine for streaming. got it for 25£

The Pure has worse reviews on amazon.

the pure does 320 kbps mp3 directly on the A2. or on the S3 one can change the usb bluetooth dongle to have bluetooth 4.0 and can do higher bit rates which interconnects via bluetooth Caskeid feature to link all devices via bluetooth and wifi to give multi room setup. when the device first launched it didn't have the Caskeid feature. I've can stream from any app or browser or internal memory or steaming directly to any or all speakers in sync. very slight milliseconds delay between speakers. Works both for bluetooth and wifi. most of the reviews would be for when it didn't have the newer features that came with firmware updates.

I have 14 different multiroom devices of various makes. so have dabbled in this a fair bit and have iOS and android and windows tablets and have streamed from android and windows devices as prefer them to my ipad air as they are less restrictive.

this doesn't do 320kbps mp3!!! and limits to much lower.

see reviews for this device on amazon "-In the user manual it says that it supports most music files, but mp3 is only supported up to 256kbps. Not a problem if you're using iTunes and import music as the iTunes native AAC/m4a (m4a is supported to 365kbps), but a surprise if you have a lot of mp3 320kbps"

I almost bought this device too as I like playing around with gadgets but wont be buying after seeing the ridiculous limitation for MP3!

ps: this is rebadged Chinese generic receiver. several other makes on dx or China vision in past look exactly same other than name and are cheaper. please see youtube reviews of those.

I've actually got the Jongo S3. I Use it all over the house for Bluetooth streaming and am very happy with it for that purpose. But it is just not going to sound as nice as a proper amp and decent speakers (given a decent source).
Must say though that the MP3 bitrate limitation is a worry...

I just use the s3 in the bathroom or to move it around. I use the A2 plugged in to my other philips fidelio speakers to get better quality instead of wasting money on sonos. my wifi streaming devices (android iOS and windows can find my wifi renderer) or bluetooth to any or all my speakers in synch same song or different songs via wifi renderer apps or bluetooth. Caskeid feature works great for linking speakers. prefer Caskeid to wifi renderer and this device in this deal usa just a wifi renderer.

If I get the time will try to do a video review of my setup on my youtube channel in a few days. have been busy last few months do haven't be doing any videos. Bought loads but haven't had time for any videos lately. there is an older video I did of my philips fidelio set up a long while ago but have now improved that with my Pure jongo A2 plugging into the fidelio. Pure tech caskeid is from imagination its parent company and now even the likes of Onkyo among many others are licensing it and using it in their high end systems.

sorry many replies as can't edit via app.

pure audio quality isn't great but caskeid feature is good. philips fidelio AW series audio quality is great but app is Sh1t. pure app isn't great either but combine the two and forget both their apps other than initial setup and firmware update etc and use caskeid feature and use any android app like deezer or tidal for HQ streaming with 1441 mbps bitrate streaming and over caskeid via A2 and philips fidelio sounds great. wouldn't waste money on sonos etc or like my cousin spend nearly 7000£ on a separates system and get less for it. philips fidelio AW5000 sound great and nicer to use via Pure jongo A2 plugged into its aux port and multiroom set up in sync via caskeid feature and stream anything and everything from any app or website.

just a tip for you ... replace the Pure Jongo bluetooth dongle that came with your Pure s3 as it's bluetooth 2. so replace it with some cheap bluetooth 4.0 usb dongle and achieve better bit rates if interested. you can get dongles for about 5£ on ebay

But this is really aimed at people who use lossless files. This is a wireless streamer not a bluetooth streamer. In fact I'm not sure why you keep talking about bluetooth.

And perhaps you could link this super-cheap DX one you found.

Thanks for the Tip bubbles. Will any dongles work, do you think?

i have seen the same one you have posted, but with different brand name for cheaper on dx and chinavision etc. just do image search on google and should bring up other similar ones by other companies. or just search for wifi streamer dx or chinavision etc.

I looked on DX and could not see it. Please provide a link.

i had seen a while back on dx and chinavision, i dont know if it is still there. so will get back with the link if i find it again, but am sure there will be enough resellers for this as it seems to have been rebadged by various sellers for exactly the same product (that i am sure).

here you go, looks exactly the same except rebadging and 30% cheaper player.vimeo.com/vid…648 and earlier had seen on dx as well the same with no branding. wont waste time by searching elsewhere but am sure this is just rebadged product sold for 30% more on amazon as usual. Anything and almost everything is now cheaper on ebay than amazon usually except sometimes on lightning deals. often even lightning deals are more expensive than ebay or other websites.

here is another exactly same except branding and again cheaper ebay.co.uk/itm…5d0

it's £24.99 at amazon now.

I've taken a punt to connect to my stereo. If I use it a lot I may enter to foray of Sonos at a later date.

Can't seem to stream deezer with this from android.

If I'm using Air Stream with an old amp with no USB - presumably I need a separate power supply?
Instructions mention phone chargers - would an iPhone PS do it ?

Hi, I had this and sent it back as it was no use for my needs.
Needs a separate power supply, yes. USB plug should do it.

My advice though? Buy a Chromecast Audio instead.
