Simple compact TTL flash for Sony cameras. It's a very basic flash (no tilt/swivel, zoom, or AF assist, 6 second recycle time). The guide number is 32. The flash itself has the classic Minolta foot, but it comes with adapters for both the multi interface shoe of the A7 series and A99 (1+2), A77ii and A68, and an adapter for the Nex series (but no TTL on nex 3 and 5). I have tested it with an A-mount camera and both TTL and manual modes work fine.

It's available on both Amazon and Ebay for this price, although Amazon free shipping will require Prime or adding another item to raise the order over £20.

Not sure on specs, but "simple compact TTL flash" is already trumped by the HVL-F7S

As it's an official Sony flash, it fits most Alpha/NEX models. I paid around £10 for mine. As you apparently have no sense of humour, though, I'll point out that the point of my post was to jokingly highlight that this thing is a monster (not 'simple and compact') compare to an actual simple, compact Sony flash.

The HVL-F7S would be a better option for nex3 and nex5 series cameras, as those don't support TTL with this flash. However the HVL-F7s is not compatible with the other cameras (A7 series, A6000 series, A-mount cameras). The Neewer MK300 is also a lot stronger than the HVL-F7S (guide number 30 vs 7).

my point is... it isn't really suited for many and despite your obvious amusement at your own hilarity could have led someone to buy it and find it useless

my on board flash is smaller and more compact by the way - GET IT?!!!! hilarious

Unless someone actually wanted a compact flash for a Nex.... this isn't compact. Shouldn't have to point that out.

For someone with a NEX, the HVL-F7S. Being obtuse doesn't make you helpful.

I don't even need to ask, you obviously have never used one and are a know it all.

Ok you two, break it up, no need for a nerd-off. Otherwise I'll recommend this little beaut for you....
