These were originally 6.99. Look really stylish.

Standard white ones are more expensive than this low price now! Compare if you like, the white ones start from £3.

I've got all brass ones in my house and they look wicked. The chrome is equally as stylish, if not more so. Available while stocks last both online & offline.

all FANTASTIC prices.

thanks, I need a few of these, great find

Er it is not actually a socket??? It is a fused switched spur.

Perfect for Essex's acres of Barratt homes.

brass is soooo last decade!

I'm sure I saw something very similar to this in poundland believe it or not, If you are after one and are passing a store, it might be worth having a look in.

Ssssh!

Let them be, though quite why they would want to put spurs all over the house is beyond me as well.

Not really sure why anyone would want these

This is a Spur the socket version is sold out.

The only socket mentioned on their site is a 45A cooker isolator. Of the 9 items listed under the Chrome heading, not one of them is a useful wall socket, or light switch.
I do not understand why this item is voted so hot, other than by lots of people who do not know what they are buying.

might be a silly question, but when does the neon red light come on? And can this be used as a one way light switch?

The light will come on when the switch is flicked, allowing the current to pass through to what ever its linked up to. If you hard-wire a light eg an outside security light that you might have normally plugged into a socket, yes you could use this to control a light.

But if your unsure consult a sparky (an electrician !) . (you've only one life!)

I guess anyone who says " the chrome effect is equally as stylish as the brass effect " would still use the word " WICKED " :whistling::roll:. Since they're not even switches...he / she probably thinks the red neon light is the new lava lamp .......... Keep it up, Marlene and Boycey....

Ye Gods.....let's just hope the OP doesn't get too much static from brushing his matching his 'n ' hers all white tracksuits against them...................................:-D;-)

maybe. But I bought one of their low energy bulbs once and it was a terrible bluey white colour and popped the next day, so I think I'll give anything else electrical in there a miss...

take it you won't be buying then

This is an x line clearance. When I did me victorian semi 2 years ago i replaced all the plug sockets, light switches etc with these (over 50 in total). These are nice chrome beveled victorian style switches, I paid quite a bit more for them but they were still very cheap at the time.

When they first got reduced I bought a load as spares unfortunately they dont have the dual sockets and light switches anymore but I have plenty

Dont think these look cheap or are poor quality, these are the best looking chrome switches I have seen.

Incidentally I have used some of the new range screwfix replaced these with. They are no where near as nice (lost the fine beveled effect) cost twice as much as I paid originally and of the 5 I have used 2 have failed already.....

Out of the 60 odd of this style I purchase only 1 was faulty (doa) and they changed it at the time no problems.

With regards to people saying these are cheap and tacky they obviously havent seen them. These are good quality victorian style fittings, silver fittings were used extensivley in latter victorian properties (check out any decent reclamation yard they cost an absolute fortune though). The brass effect fittings look extremely cheap and nasty next to these...

Chrome switches and sockets do indeed look stylish. Nobody disputes this. However, these are not those items. There is not one single lightswitch or socket within the chrome range on the screwfix site. These items are little use to anybody at all.
If you knew what you were buying or had any idea of electrics you would appreciate what people are saying here. These are the end of range leftovers, not the switches that some people already have, and there is nothing nice or "good quality" about having a glaring red neon on the wall where a plain light switch should be.

now £1.73 ?
