Awful reviews
The reviews are concerning. Especially in relation to data/security
£20 is a pretty common price for these, only £5 off not really anything outstanding deal wise. I have two of these cameras and one of them arrived faulty out of the box (It wouldnt power on), so quality control is not great.

They are ok but nothing too special, best purchased if only using for very basic video feed monitoring as everything good requires a monthly payment to unlock. By default its only a 12 second video record length with no activity zone monitoring or camera arm schedule, to improve in these areas you need to pay a monthly fee to unlock features.

I also have 2x Arlo Q cameras that cost £120 each and i use them without Netgears monthly plan, they are far superior to NEOS camera but more pricey and more capable in the long term.

Ok cams, I have 3, one of them outside in a cheap cover... All work well.
You don't need card details or address... Address is if you want auto arming.
I bought 3 and they were indeed (per reviews) completely pants. After a month they had a 2nd Firmware update and have been flawless ever since.
Any idea what the notification time is on this after a motion alert? and then how long it takes to boot up a replay or live cam after? thanks
Some of those reviews are old, you only need to input address if you want auto arming.
For the price the cameras are good for the price and the app is improving all the time

Motion alerts are pretty quick. When you click on a camera, it's 4 seconds to live viewing.
I have 4 of these and for £20 a pop, they’re actually pretty good. App works fine on iOS.

There’s several different kinds in amazon. Search for Neos or wyze cam cover.
I've got 3 of these very good quality picture on the cameras especially for the money, notifications come through quickly all in all very good value for money

Had mine for 6 months and couldn't be happier given what what I paid (£20). Auto arming works perfectly when the app is configured on my phone. I'm not sure why folks are entering their address and telephone numbers into the app - I've left these blank and everything works?
I have one - it cost a tenner with an amazon show on Black Friday... it works fine.

my only niggle is that it shows the window reflection too easily
I have two of these, all good until the last update, ow the two way sound doesn't work, can't see how it's a deal? Been this price for months

They were £24.99 I believe.

Many of the bad reviews were from before they updated the app. Previously you had to provide full address etc to even register an account to use the camera but they changed it so you only need location if using the self arming feature. I didn’t buy one until after they changed it as I didn’t feel comfortable giving them that level of info.

And if you do want auto arming just give a neighbour's door number then if they're hacked they won't know where you live. It doesn't arm til you're 500m away or something anyway.

Both mine were £20, one 6 months + ago and the other before Christmas, just checked my amazon orders
Couple of questions, can you set the area for trigger points to start recording? And does any one know how the SD recording work? Does it record constantly or only when triggered?
thanks

Nope you cant record in area activity zones without paying for a monthly subscription.
Looks like these can be updated with dafang firmware which will allow you to access rtsp stream and record to a dvr etc so bypassing the cloud altogether and keeping everything local.

Nice blog I found here

There's a 30 day free trial to see what you think of it's Neos boost features to see what you think ,you can set your activity zones etc and schedule times for it to arm itself when your out,sd card can be set to continously record I think and it also has the cloud storage back up automatically as well it's only £2.49 a month after the 30 day trial

Don't think so, but you can add a 32gb memory card for continuous recording
I use this for monitoring 3d printer when I’m in a different room. Works great, night vision is actually better than normal vision for video quality

I have one and the answer is yes you can save the clips to your smartphone or tablet.

Setup one of these outside with a cheap cover from ebay got the dafang hack on and have it recording locally to a PC running Milestone Xprotect Essentials (free) which can be setup to view remotely.
Got mines yesterday all set up in 2 seconds, have to say for £20 I'm impressed I wasn't expecting miricles

The apps crap, but that will improve , but does it show a live video feed yes. Does it record said feed, yes, to SD card or your device, yes, does it allow 12 seconds recording for motion detection for free. Yes ,

Is the app janky , hell yes. It's £20 you get what you pay for.

I'm overly impressed. Works well for my needs
I have one in the hallway and it’s really good as it sends me motion and noise notifications immediately and seems better and quicker (but is shorter) than the Yi cam. English instructions too!
The cameras are great. I use as a baby monitor. Very clear and at £20 a bargain

How do you install folks
Using more then half year this cctv. Works well can't complain. But you get what you pay, can't compare with £200 ones
