Santa got this as a first nerf gun for our 6 year old and it's an awesome toy. Surprised how well built it is. Get a red dot attachment and it becomes bloody accurate as well. I seem to be playing with it more...

Would this be too big for a four year old? Thanks

Not sure on a 4 year old. As pulling the slide back can take some force. (I dont have this model but the relatiator which was pretty much the same gun)

For a yonger kid may be better of with a battery driven one. That way just meens pulling the trigger no need to Pull back the slide.

Maybe, it's almost an adult sized/full sized gun and it's quite stiff to operate. And reloading can befuddle some people.

Something like the Firestrike or Jolt would probably be better- they're really simple to use but also they have a nice easy to grab sticky-out handle for "priming" it.

Or as the other poster says the battery powered guns can work well too as they don't need any force to use. But they're all fairly big, and can jam sometimes which tears up the darts and could need an adult to sort it. I'd keep it simple!
