John Lewis have the Nespresso U and Aeroccino3 Coffee Machine with £50 off so pay only £109.95 and receive a £70 Nespresso voucher.

Only £10 more than the Essenza bundle but I think it looks much nicer.

The best coffee by far! This deal is great considering the £70 voucher!

Hot from me. I've been a Nespresso customer for years and think it is the best tasting coffee pod system on the market IMHO. Service is excellent and the 3 year guarantee on this machine means that if you have a problem Nespresso will send a loaner and collect your machine. The Aeroccino3 is brilliant and means you can heat your milk when the espresso is being made. The Aeroccino3 also addresses the weakness of it taking too long to make 2 coffees.

Apart from looks, what are the differences between the U and the Essenza?
I can only see that the Essenza has a larger tank of 0.9 Litres against 0.7 for the U

Also, are there any cheap suppliers of original Nespresso capsules?

It doesn't mention the £70 voucher on that item .....

It does include it in the claim form
johnlewis.scene7.com/is/…pdf
(U + Aeroccino)

but yeah, I'd feel happier if they mentioned it on the product page

Yes. If you look on the Nespresso website all machines qualify for the voucher. £70 for machine and aeroccino. £40 for machine only. It doesn't matter where you buy them from as long as they're new.

Thanks so much xxx

Brill....

I'm not so sure you will get this as the T's and C's say:

it can not be used with any other offer or discount. on JL web it has that its £50 off. every other has the £40 or £70 offer.

I think the terms and conditions refer to other offers or discounts from Nespresso. The voucher offer itself has nothing to do with the retailer.

The John Lewis receipt doesn't mention any discount or offer so how would they know?

Nespresso promotions are very easy to claim. I've never had a problem. I once bought a clearance machine from Frasers for £30 and got £50 back from Nespresso.

All the others say claim money off, which is what would lead me to think you can't? But when you claim money back normally don't you just use a serial number? There not really going to know where the machines from without receipt proof.. Not sure wether to chance it?

what can the voucher be used for ???-the capsules??

Anyone know how these capsules compare with other pod machines, in terms of taste and cost?

Just went online and got one. Brilliant!!!

Can you receive voucher tho?

In the end I think the quality of the coffee justifies the price of the capsules.

But if you are looking for cheaper coffee once your promotional stuff has ran out, I believe the patents are due to expire soon so you should be able to get cheaper alternatives in the supermarket.

I want to purchase one, but as people have said it says attach receipt and also says not in conjunction with any other discounts or offers...

Cheapest place for capsules is normally direct from Nespresso. You have to register to order but, they are really efficient etc.

Cost per pod is between 29p and 35p depending on which variety you order and they come in sleeves of 10 capsules. You have to order a multiples of 5 sleeves or 50 pods with Nespresso for packaging purposes. Cheapest delivery is £4.95 (48 hoursish) but free if your order is over £60.

As regards taste there are lots of pods to choose from and new machines typically come with 'tasters' which is worthwhile doing as you then know which pods are best for your taste. I use a Nespresso to make Capuccinos as that is what I prefer and with the Aerocinno I find this machine ideal.

Just looked to see if my receipt shows the £50 discount but there is no mention of it

Just went to JL instore. Nespresso rep was on hand as they were doing I store demos. I showed him the deal. He ordered me this unit. Handed me the leaflet and said just claim online. The unit also had a £70 voucher label on it. Other units had the £40. He confirmed this was a £70 unit.
Thanks

Don't worry. When claiming the giftcard you can simply say this was a gift (there is an option to do so). Worked for me last time and you simply enter the serial number.

I've tried various pod systems and I think that the Nespresso tastes best. There are various flavours to try and most places like John Lewis and Frasers will have samples on hand to let you taste. The Aeroccino3 is a big improvement over steaming your own milk, you just pop the milk in and press the button.

I would honestly say that for anyone who has been thinking about a pod machine this offer is super hot. The machine, the milk frother/warmer, 3 year warranty and £70 worth of coffee for £110 is an absolute bargain.

You will get the voucher on this machine if you complete the form properly. Yes, you have to attach a COPY of the receipt along with your Nespresso membership number and the silver machine serial number sticker.

As I have said previously the discounts offered by John Lewis (or any other retailer) DO NOT affect the Nespresso voucher. As long as the machine is new and has been purchased between 1/11/2013 and 31/1/2014 you are eligible to claim the voucher.

Woo I just got a tassimo but this deal has won me over.. Off to John Lewis now

You do not have to attach a copy of the receipt if the item was a gift. It asks you on claim 'Was this a gift'. Answer yes if it was and only the serial number from the machine is needed.

This all sounds a rather expensive way to have a coffee.

Would that really work as it says "Applications without a valid proof of purchase showing the machine model, date of purchase and the retailer will not be validated"?

Fantastic deal - thanks OP.

We've been using Nespresso for a few years now and love the coffees. If you're a big coffee drinker it will probably work out more expensive than other options but we don't use it that much and feel the quality and freshness is worth paying for.

All the supermarkets in mainland Europe have various compatible capsules on sale so they'll probably arrive in the UK before long. These are cheaper but to be honest we haven't found any that are quite as good as Nespresso's own.

Our current machine has an attachment for steam frothing the milk. It works well but cleaning it is a faff. Looking forward to trying the aeroccino.

And yet Starbucks charge £3 for the same thing. This is about a tenth of the price per cup (not factoring in electric which is probably a couple of pence)

Rodman.. No? Few others said can?

There was a run of compatible capsules in Tescos earlier in the year, made from a plastic body. Cafepod or something. They tasted pretty rank to be honest compared to Nespresso and worked out about 25% cheaper IIRC.

You can also get a number of compatible pods from other places too nowadays, haven't tried them personally as found my favourites, you can get free tasters in Nespresso stores in places like Manchester Trafford Centre.

Who'd like to wager Martin Lewis mentions this in his email this week, but gives no credit to HUKD or the OP?

Entirely down to your own personal choice. I don't drink very often but I enjoy good coffee both at home and in the office. Pods are about 35p. If I'm out and about Pret et al will charge me £2.50ish for a flat white. If I buy 1 coffee each morning on the way into the office I'll be £12.50 a week. After 10 weeks I've paid for my machine and used 50 pods. I'd still have about 150 pods left. By the end of the next 10 weeks I've made a profit of £125.

This is really cheap coffee :-)

Does anyone know if the voucher can be used for pods?
