So we’ve seen the offer for the “special edition” of this machine which has been running a while now. But this is for the (in my opinion) best variant of the vertuo machines and has been priced at around £120 until now. It has nice chrome trim as well as a metal drip tray instead of plastic. It also has a larger water tank and according to a lot of research, is less likely to suffer from leakage faults. It will of course be eligible for the £100 nespresso gift in the form of 100 capsules and 2 months free subscription. I recently bought the silver variant of this machine to go with my kitchen and absolutely love it.

Is it definitely eligible? I just assumed the Nespresso offer was for direct purchases only
Mmmm my vertuo plus by magimix doesn’t have a metal drip tray but all the other specs (such as water tank size) seem to be the same. Is the metal drip tray just unique to this colour scheme of the vertuo plus by magimix?

Thanks, I can’t see it on the Amazon app, it just says it comes with 12 pods

Yep, already got my capsules and signed up for subscription. First month free, pay £25 for months 2, 3, 4 and 5 then 6th month also free. You get 10% extra credit with the the subscription too so after month 6 I’ll have £162.50 credit that effectively has only cost £100. I’ll probably keep the sub as we’ll easily go through at least that in our household and then see what next years deal is .

Follow this link and scroll to the bottom where it says “already bought a machine?” To claim your gifts.

Cheers, was getting one anyway so may as well go for this nicer one!
Is this the best for the ~100-150 Mark? I have the lil red nespresso pod and looking something for my mum for Christmas. Don't mind shelling out a tad bit this looks good.

Depends if you want the original pods or the vertuo pods for your mum? (Your little red one is original this one is vertuo)

great deal but be mindful this uses the new style pods which can't be copied like the original pod.

As stitch said it depends on what pods you want to use going forward. I’m a big coffee geek and had the full home barista setup before I went to nespresso. The original line is great and third party pods help you cut costs, however I only ordered the genuine pods anyway as they are without a doubt the best quality coffee you will get. The vertuo line may seem like a gimmick to most, but the coffee it produces is incredible, but of course you can ONLY use genuine pods. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending either system.

It’s all very confusing to be honest, but the 11385, 11386 and 11389 models appear to be the model with the metal drip tray, chrome trim and larger tank (1.8L vs 1.2L), they are also 1600w as opposed to 1260w. Not to sure what difference the power makes as the temperature of each blend is defined by its barcode. Maybe it’s a little quicker on longer pours. There’s a black, silver or white version. There is also a 11387 but it’s the same machine bundled with the milk frother.

EDIT: Think they are all 1260w and a couple of websites (amazon includes) just have it listed wrong.

I have looked at the none chrome versions and they are very cheaply made to be honest I was not impressed. I think nespresso have cut corners on them models as they are selling at a lower price, I Have read they have smaller tanks as well. I just bought this model from john lewis for the £79 and has a bigger tank better build quality and has chrome trims which looks nice. I am not to sure if nespresso are going to get rid of these models in the future and have the cheaper verisons or if they will keep both types.

for the different models number versions it might be the colour ?

It all comes down to how much your mum likes coffee and whether only being able to use genuine pods is an issue. And maybe also how she actually has her coffee. The original line such as the one you own only do short pours such as espresso, ristretto and maybe double espresso and lungo if you have a fancier machine. The vertuo has many “mug” sized pods that will pour a good mugful of coffee and even a pod that will pour 414ml (nearly a pint!) of coffee. The vertuo coffee quality is unrivalled, and for me personally, that’s what I want from my machine, and using only genuine pods isn’t a problem for me. If she’s happy with using genuine pods (about 50p each) then go vertuo. If she will want to use cheaper third party pods then go for original.

You are a champ, thanks for the advice brah.
So stupid question, but on the tray, it says magimix, whereas the one on Nespresso website (be it more expensive) has the Nespresso logo. Anybody know the difference between the two?

And to make it more confusing, the Argos model says Krups!
As far as I could see, there isn't really any difference between them, apart from branding and perhaps a slightly different design. It's just who's manufactured it. Which, makes it super confusing for consumers.

That is really confusing. Now I'm torn and confused between the Nespresso vertuo one from the actual Nespresso store which is £89 but less water storage, or this one by Magimix which is more storage at £79...

This info regarding model numbers needs to be added to the OP. Very helpful

Just get your 100 Capsules and refund it, what I do now.
lol the reviews are still complaining about leaks...

"Do not buy. There is a design flaw such that the machine quickly starts to leak coffee from the base. I have had two machines - the first started leaking copiously; the replacement worked for a week before the same problem appeared."

Yup, every single one I've ordered without the Metal on it has leaked.
Does this come with a milk frother? Some reviews on amazon says yes some say you need to buy separately ?
Fantastic price. I went for this on last reduction, after looking into it, was a bit confusing but went with the Vertuo Plus Krups model from John Lewis at £99 with 2 year guarantee (metal tray and larger tank).

Very impressed with the machine and enjoying the coffee!
I checked shipping, Wednesday :/ Not quick enough as the Promotion ends.

Yeh you can see the Metal Tray and the lever thing at the top, plus it has the bigger water tank. I've had 5 all Plastic ones and they have all leaked, which makes them a pain to sell as people complain.
