With the demise of my old coffee percolator I now have a need for a new brewing machine. This is as low as it's gone on amazon according to the camels. There's a Magimix version here that's at the same price (not the lowest ever but not far off) if that's preferred.

It wouldn't let me say the 's' word

Why not buy a bean-to-cup machine? If it's because you've fallen for the BS marketing then that's fine. They are quite good at persuading people to buy stuff nowadays.

Aren't decent bean-to-cup machines far more expensive than this? I liked the idea of a nespresso machine as they, if I'm not mistaken, can take refillable pods (I've got a pile of ground coffee to use up) and also use the cheaper ones found in the likes of Aldi and Lidl so you're not handcuffed to use their far more expensive own make. In the long run I thought this was quite an advantage over the other makes of pod machine. What also appealed about this particular machine is there's a foldable espresso cup stand so you can happily fill your usual morning coffee mug direct from it's life giving spout

You've got both the up-front cost and the running cost to factor-in, haven't you.
Why lock yourself in to the their pod system?

At the end of the day, it's your choice of course.

I'm sorry about your troll. You'll probably end up reporting it to make it go away.
