Google Nest Cam IQ is a seriously sharp outdoor security camera. It has brains to tell you when it sees someone and Supersight to show you an extra-clear, close-up tracking shot of who's there. It can even recognise familiar faces with Nest Aware.* *Video streaming, video recording with Nest Aware and mobile notifications require working Internet and Wi-Fi. Familiar face alerts require a Nest Aware subscription (sold separately).
Person alerts Smart enough to tell a person from something else and then alert you.
Supersight Automatically zooms in and follows a person's movements, while still showing you the full picture in crystal-clear video.
HD Talk and listen So unwelcome visitors will hear you loud and clear.
24/7 live video A 4K, 8-megapixel image sensor with HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 12x zoom lets you see every detail in full 1080p HD. Powerful IR LEDs let you see what's happening in the dark.
3-hour snapshot history When Nest Cam IQ outdoor detects a person, motion or sound, it can send you an alert with a snapshot on your phone and via email.
Robust design Weatherproof IP66 rating and tamper-resistant design.
Add intelligence and continuous recording with Nest Aware*
Familiar face alerts With Nest Aware, Nest Cam IQ outdoor becomes even smarter. It can send a notification if it sees a friend or family member, or if it detects an unfamiliar person.
24/7 continuous recording Never miss a moment. Scroll back easily through your video history using the Nest app and catch the moments that matter.
Save moments that matter by creating clips and timelapses. You can even share them with your family and friends.

I'm unsure why this is cold, its the cheapest price for the camera currently.
I am about to buy one so if others have found it cheaper please comment where.

Proly because the method of installation is ludicrous, designed for the US market.

The original outdoor camera installation was awful, requiring a huge hole to be drilled. The IQ is better but owning three of them I can safely say they are not worth the money. The subscription is absolutely needed if you are to get any of the real benefits from it, you are at the mercy though of Google and their desperation to appear "privacy friendly", changing functionality at will. Cloud based services have many well documented pitfalls.

This unit is still flawed though, it is easily disabled by any crims as all they need to do is cut your phone wire, which for most people is located at the front of the property. Easy to do this without having your face captured.

The 4k sensor is a bit of marketing crock as well, it is only made use of if you zoom in on a focus point then select high-definition, at which point it stops recording the surrounding areas. Given the active Nest Aware person recognition you would think it would zoom in and enhance the image when it see's someone, capturing their face clearly. This is not the case and frankly, unless they are stood within 2m of the camera, one person looks much like another.

Basically, it's expensive and very flawed solution. I will eventually be replacing it with a professional, dedicated CCTV hardware setup.
