It does a little more than that but still an overpriced gimmick IMO. Not voted either way
Great price. Managed £183 a few months ago via Flubit.

Great device. Saved me plenty of money over the past two years (nearly) that I've had mine.

The addition of hot water was a worthy upgrade for me be sold the old one before the price drop so only a small upgrade cost.

Heat added OP
Im presuming if you have a combination boiler with TRVs the amount of controllability is pretty much limited to time on/time off and temperature then an ability to operate that remotely?

Am i missing anything?
Fingers crossed it turns up, I recently ordered the stand from these jokers for next day delivery and after a week of chasing, and without telling me they just cancelled my order then took another 3 days to refund me.
If you are with npower you can get it for £129, just order the stand from John Lewis or somewhere who gives a **** about customers.

A good device but if you factor in the cost of the unit it would take a long time to start saving money.

I've saved money within two years. Absolutely guaranteed.

Helps hat they really suit my decor as well.
I just wonder how much the installation cost is?

Even better, didn't know about the npower deal, thanks

When I got first ones (two for two heating zones) installed it was free.

If you buy direct from nest I think its £249 including installation.

I installed my V3 myself as it was a simple upgrade from a V2. Just one additional wire.

The power co tie ins are great if they work for you.

But having solar and a tariff which is currently one of the lowest out there and 20% off at evenings and weekends, I was much better off buying direct
Bit gutted I may need three of these, for three storey house, so quite a nice saving thanks!

No.
So can all you folks who voted cold tell me where you can get this cheaper? We're not asking you if you think it's a nice device for your house / you like it etc, we are asking if it is a good deal compared to the other deals on the market, for people who want to buy one. "Cold, I live under a bridge", "Cold, I already have a mechanical thermostat". Oh Nevermind. Go and vote hot for an £8 plastic laundry basket instead.
E_J, ignore them, some people don't understand the concept of a deal and can't be educated. Many have tried and failed before.
And thanks again, buying now
I've just finished installing mine. Chuffed. Awesome piece of kit.

you only need three if you have three heating zones (which you may well have)...I have two
Yes I have three, current regs seem to require it unfortunately and I'm doing a complete new heating system. Hoping it will pay for itself in time, especially if I can lock it so family can't go meddling with the temperature!
hmm B&Q aren't great to order from, they have lost my order and someone is trying to locate it...
B&Q cancelled my order today saying they're out of stock and they can't source any. They need to tell their site that too because it's still listed as in stock.
Getting refunded too... Suggested I try again in a few weeks...yeah right!
