Nest Outdoor Camera - Lowest Ever Price At Amazon - £139.00

Found 29th Mar
Lowest ever price according to CamelCamelCamel. I bought one of these a month ago and despite having to drill a 22mm hole in the wall, I can't fault this at all. Great picture quality and easy setup.

Yes it's not as useful without Nest Aware, but please don't vote cold just because you think the subscription service is a rip-off.

Is nest aware recording 24-7 or is it motion only?

Only £4/m now, that’s more than worth it for what you get

Me too
I bought one and am stuck with it until i can find a better option. Any recommendations for live view and cloud recordings with motion detection?
Hmm this or the ring floodlight
What indoor camera which does a timelapse / ghost mode?
You put it in a room and basically you can watch a time lapse / ghost mode so you can see who walked in/where they walked in over time....

a bit like when you move the windows mouse on the computer and it trails everywhere

I remember seeing a promo video here somewhere / amazon but cant find it! argh!

I use the YI camera 1080p, I can see in real time, motion detection recording onto MicroSD, night vision, two way audio, cloud saving and more. Only cost £79 on Amazon.

My recommendation
I have had the Nest Outdoor camera for around 8 months and can not fault it all. Yes I appreciate that there is a subscription fee but at £4 a month it doesn't break the bank (I pay £7 for 2 cameras). The picture quality is excellent, alerts are fast and it doesn't lose it's connection. i thoroughly recommend it. For those wondering whether it's any good, give it a try as Amazon are very good with regards to returns.
Can anyone recommend me some cctv cameras on a reasonable budget for the front and back of my home please im a girl and a bit thick at this stuff lol
Just bare in mind the Nest Outdoor IQ is being released in the UK sometime soon. It will be nearer £300 but will be a very clever piece of kit. £4 a month isn't too bad.

The subscription pricing is a pain but this is a quality bit of kit. I love the quality of it and the functionality is great but price could and should be cheaper for sub

£4? I thought it was £8 per month for 1 camera, £4 for each extra camera?
Biggest issue I have we these is not the subscription but that they are continously bringing out v2, v3.....etc, etc

Look at the Nest thermostat iterations. I want to buy a thermostat once and for it to last a good number of years. I dont subscribe to the 'mobile phone' model that I should upgrade everyone 12 months to 2 years!

They recently introduced a 5 day subscription plan with lower rates than the 10 day. Can't remember off the top of my head what the breakdown is, but I pay £13 per month for 4 cameras.

Disagree. If you get 3 years of use out of the camera, it effectively doubles the cost. Nearly £100 a year that averages out to if you only need/want the one camera.

And whoever said not to mark the deal down because of the subscription service - I'm sorry, but that's just nonsense. Given the limited functionality without the subscription, we all know most people that buy this will subscribe. Optional or not, it's part of the overall package. So it's wholly appropriate to consider the whole ecosystem you're buying into. And personally I'm opposed to this idea of waving all the technological advances in your face, showing how clever their new camera is - but point out that you're not actually getting that.

I really dislike the subscription model that's become prevalent in everything. It feels like my bank balance is being bled dry by a thousand tiny cuts. I'd much rather be able to choose from a basic model and a premium model but with up front costs than having to pay a subscription to every other electronics manufacturer.

I would never buy a subscription camera. You just know they will shut the whole thing down one day... like Tom Tom's so called lifetime maps!

It's such a shame good hardware like this is locked to subscription services.

Welcome to the world of everything - technology, cars, fashion. Everything gets iterated upon. Just man up and buy otherwise you'll be sitting on the fence forever.
Why do you have to pay a subscription?

Netgear Arlo
Posted it for 99p less in December, it went cold..
Any FTP cameras for those with a home server?
Get a POE camera and a NVR. You'll basically pay the same as this with a year's subscription, but you won't be tied in to a subscription forever / have a defunct piece of kit when they pull the service further down the line. Anyone could fit them too, they're so simple

I'm looking at this deal because I have blink, and it's goddam awful
Firstly this is indeed the cheapest I've ever seen these Nest Outdoor Cams, either from an online or physical retailer and even considering the 2 pack sold some places. So heat to OP for a great find.

The subscription fee and whole functionality of the camera puts me at unease. I think it's great to have a combination of cloud uploading cameras and one that'll record to a local storage point (SD card or NVR) so you'll have footage either way. It depends on how much you trust Google to keep Nest going - I don't see them giving up the home field to Amazon especially with their purchases of Blink and Ring. But they have bricked devices like Revolv before so it's up in the air.

At the end of the day I'll bite and take my chances. Thanks again for the heads up OP

Pathetic response....historically thermostats have lasted for years and not been a fashion accessory/nice to have like the examples you use....you obviously have more money than sense lol

They do, but not necessary as you can record to a Micro sd card.

You're missing the point though. So what if there's a V2, V3 of 'Product x'. Yours isn't going to suddenly stop working.
I have a 1st Gen Nest Thermostat and 1st Gen Nest Protect. Just because they've iterated/got smaller/faster/whatever, doesn't mean you've wasted money.
My other point - imagine if you bought a brand new car on the day the model comes out. You'll enjoy it for 3-5yrs, but when the next version comes out, that doesn't take away from the enjoyment you had either whilst it was brand new, or for the duration you owned it until the next model was launched.
