I wouldn't buy a refurb - these things have a fixed end-of-life date (10 years) at which point they stop working.

So you don't really know how long you're gunna have left.

I have this - the wired version - very good but will alert if someone is blow drying their hair near it. Tests itself regularly and provides a nice ringed path way/ night light idea for people trying to navigate around the house in the dark. App alerts.
Would be a nice deal but then what do they actually refurbish in a smoke alarm? If the sensor itself is not replaced then you'll end up with a product that might have a surprisingly short life ... seems a bit risky

Out of stock already, shame it wasn't the wired either. Reported as expired.

I agree. Only explanation is these are customer returns (within 14 days)
Most probably you will get 7-8 years out of standard 10 year life cycle.
Would agree with earlier comments - buying a refurbished smoke alarm is like buying reconditioned tyres. I personally wouldn't chance it, you won't really get to test it until its too late!
Out of stock, plus "This seller is currently away, and isn't processing orders at this time"
Now back at 84.99

Agree, the 10yr countdown starts from manufacturerd date. I bought 4x new and they were 18 months old. Retailer swapped them out for new and I got 2 month ones
Smoke damaged returns
Mine developed

10 years ?
you’ll be lucky, mine lasted about 14 months Came home to a yellow ring and the back up batteries hot to the touch
The irony if this thing triggered a house fire

Never again

I've also had two battery powered V1 ones for nearly 7 years as one expires in November.

I did have a problem with them when I tried to use "normal" long life batteries such as Duracell. The only ones that they recommend (and support) are Energizer Ultimate Lithium. Anything else and they drain them within a couple of weeks, cue yellow warning lights etc.
