B&Q currently have an offer on all smoke alarms 3 for 2. Even at £72 each the units are not cheap but offer combined smoke alarm and carbon monoxide sensor.

I haven't seen these units discounted anywhere. This is only available in store. I purchased 6 in total, 3 from the Kidderminster store and 3 from the Wednesbury store

Nest Wave- No more swinging brooms or towels. Silence alerts with a wave of your hand.
Heads-Up- Get a friendly alert so you can handle burning toast before a piercing alarm goes off.
Know from anywhere - Sends a message to your phone if the alarm goes off or if batteries run low.
Nightly Promise - Nest Protect tests its sensors and batteries and lets you know it's working with a quick green glow at night.
Silence the chirp - Low-battery chirps ever rattle your dreams? Nest Protect shows you its batteries are good. Before you doze off.

I think it is a brilliant idea but..... am I right in thinking that smoke rises up so alarm should be up high but that carbon fumes stay low so carbon monoxide alarms should be waist height. I just want to know before buying Thankyou

Showing £109???

Showing £109 for me as well ??

Think op has got this price by dividing the price of 2 (109£) by 3 to get the £72. Title should be updated to reflect individual unit price not after multi buy.

Get them free from a local fire station. They do the install with a free fire assesment.

Not a nest ha ha!

Am I missing something obvious or are these not in the 3 for 2 offer anyway?

Not going in basket 342

Another Google product!

Carbon monoxide is very, very slightly lighter than air, therefore the Nest system works very well.

The Google Nest smoke alarm doesn't show up in the 3-for-2 offer online.

I checked with one of my local B&Q branches and all smoke alarms are on 3 for 2 at present *except* for these nest ones.

Where have you found the multi buy offer actually working OP?

Just updated the original post to make the pricing clearer.

I purchased 3 from Kidderminster and 3 from Wednesbury. Did you actually go to the checkout? I asked a member of staff and they weren't too sure, when I went through the checkout it automatically calculated it. Happened exactly the same at both stores.

The signs in the store say on 'All' smoke alarms, there isn't any small print saying excluding NEST. If it hadn't of gone through on the till then I would have complained.

I'm also aware that it doesn't show up on-line, my purchases were actually in the store.

@obriens I asked somebody over the phone to scan at the till. He also read out the offer over the phone and said angel ones ok nest not included.

I might go try myself tomorrow then!

Checked my local B&Q at Erdington, signage definitely said, 3 for 2 on all 'Fire Angel' Smoke alarms.

And nest were on a separate end of isle display.

Tried my luck and took 3 nest alarms to scan through the self checkout anyway, but they went through at full price with no discount taken off, so I sheepishly walked away from the checkout.

tried at Widnes and Speke branches of B&Q neither of which honoured the 3 for 2 offer.

lame.

This is a stupid product not fit for purpose. Buy a well known bog standard brand and be safe. You will also save money.

they no longer sell the Nest smoke alarm
