Yeah bought the 3rd gen. No point buying Thermostat E since its only plus is supposed to be cheaper price and looks
Couldn't find any stock, so purchased off. Amazon instead

What about the installation? From what I know it’s quite easy to replace your existing thermostat with the Nest E and heatlink yourself. The learning Nest and heatlink requires a lot of rewiring so not everyone will be able to do it, which means additional cost for labour of a professional.

I haven't done it before but they usually have instructions how to diy. I'm not paying a professional for this
Just plug nest in to a wall socket and transfer a few wires into new heat link box from old one. It really is mega simple and I am in no way an electrician. It shows you in box what wires. Now if you want the nest on wall then yeah an electrician is needed.
As long as you have a 12v supply going into the nest should be fine

You don’t need 12v for nest. It’s micro usb. Just plugs in any wall socket.
Argos has these in stock with various colours for £159.00 and they do 11% Cashback via Quidco, making it £141.51
EDIT: Think my calculation is wrong. Not sure what the Cashback is for the Nest (if any)...
