Perhaps to partially match the screwfix price, Amazon have further reduced the Nest thermostat to £149. This applies to all colours except white.
The Screwfix deal is the same price but includes a stand, so offers better value, so this offer is only really for people who:-
The Screwfix deal is the same price but includes a stand, so offers better value, so this offer is only really for people who:-
- Do not have a local Screwfix (when they start to run out of delivery stock, white' has already gone)
- Love Amazon
- Hate stands!
Amazon won't refund the difference on products anymore, they'll ask you to post the item back at your expense and re-order.
Amazon owned product, though.
had a live chat with amazon - they offered £5 as a gesture of good will but say they don't do post purchase price reduction
brings it down to £149.99 anyway so not returning
I am just hoping now the installation prices won't surge!
I just tried live chat but they only offered to cancel the order and get me to re-order it. I asked for a £5 credit but apparently.. " As a service level agent, I am not authorized to provide a price match for the post order issues.". So I said to leave it as it is. Not worth the bother for £5. If it comes up cheaper again tomorrow I may get another and return one.
"Our prices may increase or decrease based on a number of factors and unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund for the difference between the price in your order and the lower price you saw on our website."

I have the same boiler (29cdi) with a salus wireless controller currently fitted.
Have you any instructions how to swap this for a nest?
anyone know if this is enough for it to work, only 2 wires?!
and to help me make up my mind, which do you think looks best?
I just googled it & one of the first posts up was a youtube video from Worcester Bosch explaining how to fit a third party controller, another post was a forum giving someone written instructions. It's just swapping a few wires around in the pull down panel (the one inside after you've pulled off the casing).
Edit:
Here's the forum post:

Between the two of them it should be pretty straightforward.
Nest also make a unit for the US market which is not compatible here, but has cooling features. When the nest is heating its Orange, when its doing nothing its Black, Blue would be cooling, not sure on white, but there is a budget nest thermostat coming out which has a white background.
I have purchased the copper from Screwfix,
(just because it was more unique) Black doesn't make the ring obvious, white matches your walls, and silver your door handles, but is more common. The stands and wall plates are white though. So white would match that better. Copper would match any copper pipes, but i'm not placing it anywhere near my radiator.
