Black Friday deal - cheapest I've seen for a long while.

Only seems to be on silver at the current time and only one needs to be purchased to get this price.

Normal selling price for the Nest Thermostat is £209.99 and the stand is £34.99, giving a total normal cost at Screwfix of £244.98. Accordingly, this represents a saving of £94.99.

Comes bundled with the stand by the way

Oops! Forgot to include that in the description - will amend, thanks!
Damn, hope they serve up the white variant at some point
Can't see the stand including?

When you add it to the basket, the stand should be automatically added. However, in my closest store, they didn't have any stands available, so maybe that is the issue in your store (it was still in the basket, but wouldn't let me order)

cheapest Black Friday cost for this yet, without fitting!
So so tempted to pull the trigger on this at this price. But can anyone say for sure that this has saved them money on heating bills or is it just another gadget to have in the home?

I’m all for gadgets but I’d like to think it will pay for itself over time.
I think it has saved me money. When you leave the house, it automatically works out no-one is home and goes into “auto-away” mode, which I think they now call “eco” mode. This feature works even better if you have the Nest Protects as it ties in with their proximity detectors. The smart learning features don’t always get things right, so that’s been a bit hit and miss for me.
But the convenience of being able to turn on the heating before you get home is a nice convenience to have.

No, you have to arrange installation yourself.
Thanks OP, ordered. Can't see it getting any cheaper
Great deal, been waiting for the price to drop. Ordered!
Ordered, i trust my local heating engineer and if any complications further down the line at least they installed. They can do the install for max £70 if takes an hour or if takes 30 mins they will do for £50. I was going to have to buy the stand anyway so this is the best deal I have seen,
Superb :-) This is the deal I was waiting for. Ordered with 1% quidco too.
I already have a remote thermostat for my boiler which sits in the living room - anyone know if it’s worth getting specialist install for this or is the fact the boiler already operates remotely make it a 2 minute job?

I think it's just a case of removing your boilers current wireless receiver and replacing with the Nests version. I've been quoted 15 minutes (as I'm in the same situation as you with current setup), so I'm gonna let my usual boiler service folks do it for that price. If they'd wanted anything over £40 I'd be doing myself TBH.

What scorpion said. If you've already got a wireless thermostat, then you'll have a receiver connected to the boiler.

Replace old receiver with nest one, and pair thermostat.

My electrician took all of 20 minutes to sort.
Let me know of anyone wants to sell me their stand. I paid way more than this the other week.
This or hive - what's the real difference anyone - thx
bought at the same price last year and best investment

I don't need my stand, can sell it when I get it if you are interested. Thanks.

Just copped this one!

Interested in this too. As I understand it individual Trvs can be added in future to the Nest but Hive doesn't have this capability?

Also does the wall thermostat for nest need to be hard wired?

Does this include a hub?

Includes: Display, base, heat link, optional trim plate and wall screws.

So, yes the Heat Link is the hub
This deal is on Amazon too...I bought mine from there :-)

Personally I've found it's not as intuitive as Nest would have you believe. Mine doesn't seem to learn that, even though I have it set to come on at 4:00pm each day, I may not be home till nearer 6pm. It puts itself into away mode without the heating on and then suddenly acts surprised when I walk past it. My other bugbear has been mid summer where I open the doors and windows to cool down the house, it suddenly turns the heating on because it's below 18c. I turn it off and five minutes later, it's on again. I turn it to away and then walk past it and it's back on again. I turn the thermostat down and it turns it back up again as part of the schedule. Very annoying.

I tired clearing the schedule and letting it learn, but after a week of me constantly turning the heating on manually because it hadn't bothered, I gave up.

But.... that all said, it's pretty good most of the time. Being sat in a taxi on the way home from a night out and turning on the heating so it's warm when you get back is brilliant, as is the integration with Alexa and my Energenie TRV's.
Heat. I paid £249.99 from Nest without the stand (but including installation).

Yes you can add TRV's- I use Energenie but I think there are others that work with Nest.

Doesn't need to be hard wired - there is a wireless receiver box / hub (supplied) that attaches to the boiler where the normal thermostat wires do and the Nest thermostat talks to that. It does require power which can either be from the same wires that fed your old thermostat (as I do), or a USB power supply (supplied).
