Surely a 1TB NVMe M.2 with an enclosure isn't that much larger, double the sequential performance, cheaper, and you can use the M.2 drive in a computer later on?

    For example: hotukdeals.com/dea…351 + amazon.co.uk/VCO…J/ total 48.27GBP. (edited)

I usually suggest the seperate drive/enclosure option too but there seems to be quite a few people that can't be bothered and would rather just get an external like this.

The 1TB version of this deal is £52.49, a seperate 1TB and enclosure will be around £45, so it's not too much money on top for those that prefer this style.

The 1TB NVMe Netac external is only £48.99 which is a better option for those that want a 1TB external -
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…094

But, at the end of the day, if someone knows they will never need more than 512GB and know they'll keep it as an external, this isn't a bad deal and is cheaper than other options.

Will this power up when plugged into a TV. I have a portable SSD slightly larger in size than this, which works with my Samsung TV at home (to play mpg downloaded movies) but never seems to work on hotel and air BnB TVs, whereas a regular USB pen drive usually works just fine.

If you have that problem then probably not as this will use more power than a normal flash drive, which is likely the issue. If you’re using things in an Airbnb best to get a cheap flash drive and copy files to that. (edited)

The 1TB for £52.49 is great value too!

    Plus this at £48.99 -
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…h=1

Faster, but not as pocketable. (edited)

Yep, it seems all of them are 25% off and all good value. I really like the form factor. I don't need another SSD, but i may get this smaller capacity just to see if it is indeed better than a flash drive.

I don't know if this will help some but there's also some other Netac external drives about that run on the USB 3.2 gen 2 protocol, plus they have RGB for those who want that kinda thing! Bit bigger than OP's post but still external and has 30% off vouchers on all models too so you can get the 1Tb version for around £47 all in. amazon.co.uk/dp/…BNF

Yep, it seems Netac gave discounted all their products, so lots of choice. There are better Netac deals than the one I posted. But I posted it for the form factor.

    Yep, 1tb for £ 52.49

Seems like will only work in usb3 type-A, and is slow on usb-c (edited)

It is from Netac official store, so it should be OK. Netac has a long history behind making storage devices. In that part of the world, they are a major player on this market. (edited)

Did anyone buy one of these and what are they like. The prices have dropped a bit more and I am tempted to get the 1TB one as a media drive.
