Does anyone know if these would work with a pair of zyxel 200mb homeplugs?

I don't think Homeplug and Powerlines work together - different standards.

What is the point of this? Even the 85Mbp/s ones are fine for streaming 1080p movies. And most people will be limited by their 100Mbp/s router/switch anyway.

they are fine for SOME types of 1080, and also if the 2 plugs concerned can literally see each other. For other people, who need a bit more range perhaps, or have less compressed material, or want to use them to connect other services at hard to cable areas...

See a use yet?

Sure you would want a 200 mbps for 1080p streaming not an 85? Don't see how the bitrate would be high enough myself. The 500's are obv to support a near gigabit Ethernet, or to link two switches together and run a few steams over for example.

I put the deal on as a 500, not to compare against 85 or 200's though. Although at the price they are maybe you could compare against 200's.

You could in theory use a gigabit switch at both ends of a pair of these and have a half gigabit wireless link between two parts of your property (i.e. your living room and your office) without having to run cabling.

Got these last week and I have to say I am well impressed so far (touch wood).

One attached to the ADSL modem /router (gigabit) upstairs and the other is located downstairs connected to the Sammy TV's ethernet port.

With the built in media decoder in the TV I can stream all my content fro my NAS upstairs without so much as a stutter.

This is even whilst streaming to two AC Ryan PlayonHD Mini units (all simutaneously)

Most of my content is only 720p however, so I cannot say what the 1080p streaming performance is like unfortunately.

I like them so much, I'm going to purchase another two.

Heat from me.
