Hi all, this is my first OP. hope to help everyone.

Most of UK family own the fast broadband now, maybe 40Mbps or more.
The old desktop PC only has 802.11g 54Mbps adapter, working at the 10% of load, subject to the distance between PC and router, that means the maximum speed is only 4Mbps.

I keep an eye on the fast dual wifi Adaptor for a period.
It is really value for money only £15, because it is AC1200 up to 867Mbps.
It is also possible to be compatible with Linux ubuntu.

If compare with other similar products at argos
TP-Link AC600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi USB Adapter - Archer T2U up to 600Mbps £16.99
Netgear AC600 USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter up to 433Mbps £12.99
TP-Link N300 Wi-Fi USB Adapter - TL-WN823N up to 300Mbps £9.99
TP Link AC1300 USB Wireless Dual-Band Wi-Fi Adaptor up to 867Mbps £20.00

Welcome to HDUK
Ordered, thanks.
I don't know if USB 2.0 could handle speeds of 867Mbps but it's more than enough for what I need.

good question
  • USB 2.0/Hi-Speed: 480 Mbps. So maxmium data 60MB/s
btw my laptop wifi module is 433Mbps, easy to run under 100Mbps fiber BT broadband, the actual download speed can go up to 70-80% load (7-8MB/s).

Excuse my ignorance but how does this work and what benefit is it
I'm surprised how much these cost now. I've paid £8 for an Aukey wifi and Bluetooth adaptor 5 years ago, was expecting these to go down in price, not up. This does not make it a bad deal, by the way.

You plug it into a Windows 7/8/10 laptop or PC and it will allow you to connect to your wireless internet.
For a desktop PC you're usually much better off with one that has an antenna attached. These are ideal for laptops and smaller devices though.
Welcome, thanks for posting.
