it depends on how you have them set up i went for a wired kit in the end as you dont have to get the ladders out every 2/3 months

yes that maybe true if they are not recording anything and no motion detection. Price is still good. But that 186 is for used btw, with Amazon 20% warehouse deal.

biggest misconception with Arlo as a security system is that it is always on. it's not. it is designed for movement trigger capture. if you choose to have it on 24/7 then batteries will last no more than a day.

whats the link please
give me 5 i will find it. they aren't cheap but never let me down and replacement was good for any unit that didn't perform.

Do you use these with the Arlo? Because surely a rechargeable has less capacity, and will cut off well before the battery is near empty (safety reasons)

I get 6 months out of disposable duracells using the camera in places that doesnt have constant motion (ie front door, back garden etc)

Yeah that’s their biggest downfall sadly

That doesnt mean anything, I can show you 720p images with much more clarity than a cheap noisy 1080p sensor.

The image quality is plenty good enough for anything within a reasonable distance

i rarely get a hit on my cameras - usually the damn rat in the garden however, i get some 2 months use out of a set of fully charged batteries and bought extras so i have some recharged and ready for replacement. it doesn't cut-off as the android app lets you know when the batteries are going low.

Yeah that makes sense you get about 1/3 the duration with rechargables. I meant the batteries cut off before they are too low. ie you never fully deplete a rechargeable, but you would a disposable.

Good comeback kid
I've got mine set up that if the camera in my front garden is triggered after 8pm at night the Hue lights flash in my lounge and if the second camera by the front door is triggered then all the Hue lights in the house start to flash.

Also we have a ring foorbell and if anyone presses the button it will trigger the cameras to start recording,I do this as it is cheaper than paying a ring subscription to keep the recordings.

Bottom line is if you want something recording 24/7 then this isn't a solution. If you want easy no wired good quality pictures of some chav robbing your shed then these are perfect. You are paying extra for no wiring but it's easy to maintain and the app is good. It's not perfect and i had to buy the 3rd party mounts to get more angle as the magnetic ones are limiting. saying that, it's a good buy at this price point but if you add-in the rechargeable battery costs and charger then thats another 50 quid. mounts were like 3£ a piece on ebay

it works with an Alexa app too albeit some people don't get it to work so well. Nice design.

to be fair to Arlo - i don't know how they do it but it nags me to change the batteries so i get a good 2-3 weeks before i get a note that the camera is closing down. quite clever.

Yeah I've got it hooked up with Alexa but o have just purchased the Google Home Hub (the one with the screen),so it should display the cameras on there.
i think it's a great solution for people who don't want cables running everywhere. there are solar panel units you can buy that sit alongside your cameras which are handy for auto charging in difficult areas and i would like to try these myself but the reviews on amazon are pretty sh"t
£70 a throw and some pretty bad reviews i am sure the brains on UKDeals could come up with better.

Rechargeable batteries work brilliant with these i have 5 and one camera on the front of the house goes off at least 20 times a day and normal batteries last bout 2 month if lucky . Rechargeable last 6 month dead easy

Not accurate though if you buy good "normal" batteries like Duracells. It would be impossible for rechargeables to outperform them.

Just dont want you to mislead anyone on it

I’ve got these for over 6 months
Depends how you’ll use them
It worked over the month of summer while I was away and another 2 weeks after that .. great product and you can buy rechargeable batteries from amazon which is another great deal
The review is on YouTube the guy explains very well how it works again quite pleased with this product ! Added heat !
36253526-IuXVc.jpg

Had this set up for about a year now on reviews from here, must admit the set up process is easy but the recording isnt the best/ im on 100 mb virgin broadband and it seems the camea's are on a work when they want to mode. for set up 10/10 for recording 5/10 severe lag record after the motion detetion has been triggered. if you want to record the aftermath of a crime then ARLOis for you.......
I just ordered the below during prime day for £34 if you wait or £40 now. Also it it’s indoors / garage etc and near a socket there is a mains powered solution on amazon for less than £20 that I have been using for a couple months without issues

Oh and I live in a terraced house and with them mounted higher up (out of reach) a bit of tape blocks the sensor and it works perfectly alerting only when people walk into the drive... better than ring did
