Note this is a very basic model. Only 2 Ethernet ports. Although the description says suitable for Fibre you would need to hook this up to your existing Fibre router and treat it as a slave.

Correct, the modem router supports wan (hence pppoe) so you can use use it as a basic wireless router with an external vdsl 2 modem

But with just 2 ports you'd use one to connect to the BT fibre modem and have just one to connect to a PC which is very limited. But if you only need 1 port then I guess it'll do.

​well no, my point was that fibre (BT, sky etc) would use the built in modem as its adsl2+. the use of virgin DSL/cable you would use this as an access point?

I still don't really see the point as I would imgine the WiFi speed and coverage would be comparable to the free kit supplied with your contract anyway
