Seems a good price though. And don't forget Quidco! Hot.

Any chance this could be used with Virgin Media?

I realise that it has a modem, but sorta hoping it would ignore that part?

Virgin Net (offnet) yes. If its through a phone line this is appropriate. RJ11 connection basically.

There arent any now, they have expired as of the start of this month.

Anyone manage to get one of these running with an O2 connection that has a Static IP?

Anyone say for certain what speed the ethernet ports are? Can't seem to find a wireless N router with gigabit ethernet for under a ton! cheers

Is it still draft, I thought 802.11n was ratified now?

Internally don't these routers have the wireless chip connected to the ethernet bus controller via USB? So the gigabit would only operate on the ethernet to ethernet side of the device.

Wireless throughput would be contented (its all shared) and limited to the maxmium internal bus speed of the device? What wireless to ethernet speeds are people getting with these gigabit + wireless routers is it any better than the 10/100 switches with wireless N?

Interesting...
If its all shared, would it not be better to go for a dual band/300 (instead of a 150)? I guess it depends if you are also going to use the wired connections also. The DGN2000 looks ok, but is around £20 more than this.
Excellent price on this product. Considering this one now but wondering if this will get through the thick walls and multiple connections. :?

For think walls a combination of mains networking or wifi bridges might be an option. The units with external anteenas tend to do a bit better than these internal models,

Dual band in not bonded so it is is 300mbs toal max per wireless client 150.

Agree great price for a wireless n ADSL modem.

Also £42.99 at Amazon.co.uk at the moment...just in case someone has vouchers etc.
Plus I find the Amazon return policy slightly better than Play.com - quicker to refund / supply replacements etc.

At PCWorld as well Web Exclusive price of £42.99 with [email protected] and in stock at all my local stores (East London) - for those you just cant wait ;-)

I got this modem for my parents who had a old SKY (Sagem) modem reflashed with Sagem firmware. This had been fine for 3 years then it died. So I got this one.

The odd thing with this modem was that it would only synch with the ADSL if I plugged it into the master socket not the extension (no other phones connected and just a microfilter on the line)

Then when it did synch and CHAP authenticated (it got the ASDL IP address and DNS ok) the laptop I had connected to the router via ethernet could not get onto the ethernet. Wifi did not work either. I checked all the settings etc and the VCI / PPoA etc is set up ok.

Has anyone else had problems with this modem or is it just me! I might factory reset it and try again.

Also this does not have WDS which is a pain as I it only works downstairs and my folk keep their PC upstairs where the old Sky modem was.

Might ebay this and use my mum old single port Siemens ADSL modem with wireless disabled and add some of the £11 Tenda routers I got from ebuyer for the wireless.

I bought the Netgear DGN1000 last week, does anyone know how to set this router up with Sky Broadband?

I'm looking at this router, and wonder about the compatability with sky bb. As peviously mentioned, apprantly this router needs to be plug into the master socket. This is not available to me, as there are no power supplys near, and I wish to have router by main pc. Can someone advise if this comment is true or not?
