I have the earlier model and it is great now they upgraded it to be mesh compatible. Just got one of these to add to the system.

Thanks OP, just picked up an “as new” one from Amazon warehouse, which with the 20% discount brought it down to £47.03 !
i've never had any luck with extenders, still find they drop in and out.

maybe cause always bought the cheap ones
Bought one of these in June on a warehouse deal, it's been great when it's worked but having to restart it more and more often as it drops the 2.4ghz network I think most warehouse returns are because of intermittent faults.

Just organised a refund and ordered a brand new one hoping it'll be more reliable.
I can confirm that with the latest firmware update (, this can work in a "mesh" mode with your current WiFi router, keeping the same SSID on both dual bands. However, as usual with range extenders, the network speed is around 50% slower than being connected to your primary router. The positives are obviously the price and that there is no need to switch between SSIDs.
