8 port gigabit switch - only £3 more than the 5 port switch posted a couple of days ago that got over 300 hot votes

Can anyone explain the cold votes - I've just ordered one thinking it was a good price based on the previous 5-port deal so if this isn't I'd like to know why so I can decide if I want to cancel the order.

btw - I know it's been £12.98 a few times (camelcamelcamel) but for only £3 more than the 5 port version I thought it was better value?

It will be because it's a plastic cased unit and because historically it's been £1 cheaper no doubt. Also the metal cased GS308 or the equivelent TP-Link unit has often been available for the same or lower price.

I have the metal cased TP-Link unit which I got for £13.99 months back, these are typically plug in and forget devices so being plastic or metal makes little difference but some part of me prefers the idea of metal. This is a fair price and if you are in urgent need of a switch then nothing much to not like about the pffer, but it won't light peoples interest up quite like the metal cased units at this price.

I'm not voting it cold as there's nothing wrong with the deal but better deals have and I'd wager will again be available.
