Found this great router on sale in local Maplins at 50% of list price. This is likely to be national as they are no longer selling these and need space from IoT and smart home kit.

Three antennas and modem router on the packet would make this the D7000 model.

Nice one. Been waiting for this to drop

Still £169.99 on the website so guess this was just in store - what store did you buy it ?

This was regarded as one of the best routers you can get for gaming over WiFi and still very much is at this price point.

Great at that price router...will go hunting tomorrow

I've got the router version... awesome! Plug an external hard drive to it and back up your media from phone automatically etc. Bargain if you can find it at that price!

Then after that (as soon as your contract is up) switch from TalkTalk

Can you have a vpn work from this rather than from each individual device?

Do NOT buy
D7000 is a poor modem router, totally different product the R7000, entirely different chipset and nothing in common with it.

No it wasn't that's the R7000.
This router is a turkey.

sadly at normal price in my local maplins. even got them to check their clearance list.

Not of offer in Blackburn Maplins too

Not on offer @ my local stores showed them them the deal and they said it must have been a b-grade or return item.

No it wasn't that's the R7000.This router is a turkey.

Details?

Not on offer in Boucher Road, Belfast

Full price at Paisley also.

It's not a national deal.

That clearance label means the price is specific to the item that it's stuck on. This label usually means that it's missing parts, has damaged packaging, a customer return or is ex-display - the reason is supposed to be written on the label.

Scanning this labelled item through on Maplin's EPOS will bring up the full price, and the sales advisor must then manually adjust the price on EPOS to reflect what's written on the clearance label.

EDIT: Clearance items that are 'national' are not supposed to have these labels affixed, unless they're returns, damaged etc.

Anyone with experience v using this to login to BT account rather than using their homehub?

Although nothing in the routers section was discounted, I found a one off Netgear Orbi RBK30 in the clearance section for £99 (down from £199) and a Fuze Workstation Educational Kit for £69 so really glad I visited.

Actually quite happy with TalkTalk ,very cheap and fast enough for me , but getting fed up of restarting the router ( twice yesterday) not life or death I know but a pain...

If anyone can recomend me a decent modem/router I would appreciate it....

I found this with good reviews for £149 - Netgear AC1900 Nighthawk Modem router

argos.co.uk/pro…529

I am fairly tech savvy but have always just used the provided equipment...

What ever I get needs to run a load of devices lol, at least 15, maybe as many as 21 if you count hue bulbs separately..

Cheers all.....

I've got this router working on talk talk however my family still prefer talk talk router. I upgraded firmware of talk talk router to 1.22t and in my experience it's very stable. I work from home very often and never had problem with talk talk router.
I bought better router mainly for parental control but never got it to work properly. Better caused so much annoyance that my family forced me to switch back to talk talk router.

Already said it has no relation to the R7000.Google it.

All the details I can see is that it is the r7000 with a modem (same internals). The only slight negative is that they may not update the firmware as frequently. Reviews for either are positive for both. So you will need to provide citation for the claim.

R7000 is a different device entirely to the D7000.
It is not just a case of one having a modem and same internals.

They have entirely different hardware inside and share nothing in common apart from outer casing and official specs. Actual reliability and components used and available firmware, the D7000 is known to be a mediocre piece of hardware.
It operates a single SOC for both modem and routing function. This makes it poor from the outset.
