r7500 or R7000? i use the ex7000 which is either a repeater or an access point (the ex isnt a router), and its speed is breathtaking compared to some older cheaper routers. The reviews suggest the R7500 or 7000 is similar in quality.

This ... or a thin piece of cat5e?

the thin piece of cat5e will win for speed, but if its thin its probably flat, and if its flat, its probably not twisted, and if its not twisted, you might experience slow performance due to interference, especially in long runs.

I can't tell if that was meant to be funny.
Because "Wire will win, but if... and if and if and if.... then it's crap" was hilarious.

Or perhaps my mind hasn't survived to the weekend.......
I wish I could justify stupidly expensive equipment like this. (_;)

Heat because I want to need it.

had one of these and sold it, as it kept locking my speed slower than my standard virgin hub, it I get 100mb virgin, in modem mode this router only gave me a speed of 54mb, because it does an average speed form speedtest.net in the settings on the hub.

For a home router you don't need "3200". Just go with a 1750-1900. 3200 router just have two 5ghz bands. Useless for home networks in my opinion.

if you want wireless then wired isn't really going to be much help but I'm sure you know that already

waiting for the wrt1900acs to come down in price, missed it when it was on offer on prime day :-(
