Works really well, have had mine for aroud 6 months with no issues.
I've got this and it's fine. Does anyone know if you buy it again can you use both the router and satellite as 2 satellites?

I would assume only the satalite part, but contact Netgear they'll be able to tell you.

I've the orbi voice mesh system works brilliant
Bought this a couple of weeks ago and it was a bit of a nightmare. The router part came with a firmware so old it can't automatically update. If anyone else buys this and you get a router with firmware v1.9.x.x then you'll need to manually update it to 1.12.x.x and then you can automatically update to the latest firmware.

FYI, if you don't update, expect the satellite to constantly disconnect and get poor speeds. Even with the updates it still loses the satellite from time to time...
I still hoping the 3 pack will be reduced. It's still £450

Hi, no the router can only be used as a router and not a satellite. Bit of a pain as I wanted to do the same a while ago and ended up getting a satellite when it was on offer (with 20% off) from the Amazon warehouse.

Thanks for that. You don't happen to know if you can use something like an RBS50 with a RBK30? i.e. the satellite more powerful than the router? I've searched but can't be sure. My satellite with this didn't work very far from the router which is annoying.

I might try to hold out for a good deal on a decent satelllite some day (and hope I can resolve the firmware issues everyone seems to have when upgrading an existing system)

good question. I don't think so. I've had a quick look at the data sheets on the Netgear website and they say the RBK50 is required for the RBS50. When I checked the one for the RBS30 it said the 40 or 50 is required (which is very confusing as it comes with the 30 in a pack). I'd be tempted to order one anyway, from somewhere that accepts returns, just in case it doesn't work.

I just got a message back from Netgear to say both the RBS40 and RBS50 are compatible with the RBK30 surprisingly! I'm not really interested unless I could get one for a really good price - the satellites by themselves seem like a bit of a rip off

interesting, perhaps they ought to say that on their spec sheets. Thanks for the update. I agree the prices are all over the place at the moment for the satellites.
Good find thanks. I've the Netgear nighthawk and the latest update killed the 2gh network. Pain to fix. Been waiting for a good price on this.
RBS50 Satellite only going for £114 on Amazon (and works with the RBK30 apparently)

I think I'll bite
