I've been looking at something like this for a while, as our house has major black spots. I've hard wired where I can, but some places are an absolute nightmare.

This seems to be the cheapest I've seen this, and the reviews are a bit hit and miss, but there is a lot of positives from them too.

Use the code PLUGIN15 as nicely provided by eBay, and credit to all those before me who have quoted it

At this price it’s an absolute scorcher. Paid £100 and can’t fault it at that price point.

I think I'd need an extra satellite. Any offers on packs with two satellites included?

I paid a bit more than this for a satellite only on Black Friday from Amazon. I have just purchased one of these again, just for the satellite. Dont need the base and will probably flog it on gumtree.

Thanks. This looks like a great price, but not sure what it'd offer over a Tenda nova MW3? All I want to do is stream music in garage and garden, so doesn't need to be a lightning fast connection...

Fair enough. I used the Tenda MW3 and found its coverage okay'ish and speeds to be reasonable. The RBK gear is definitely much faster as it uses a dedicated backhaul. Also the Orbi baseunit I have (RBK50) has several ethernet ports to which I connect my devices like NAS, Xbox etc.

The Tenda ethernet ports are also 100Mbits/sec rather than Gigabit. Base unit only has one spare slot; so was pretty useless unless I then connected it to a switch.

If you just want a stable and moderate connection, then the Tenda is a great price. It just wasn't for me.

Thanks. Coverage is more important than speed for me - I've got a detached garage that my Sky router doesn't give a usable signal in... Half tempted to to try this to see if a router in the lounge and satellite in the garage is enough, but suspect it may not be

Sod it - ordered one It sounds like range and penetration with the Orbi is good, so it may well do the job.

Half-tempted to get a 2nd one just in case - wonder how much the router would fetch now these have been discounted...
I've got the RBK40 plus 1 satellite and it's brilliant. Maxes out fibre connection even on wireless.

BTW the starting price is £75.98 @BuzzDuraband

-15% with code above mate. Unless you're talking about the £74.33, that's the next best price box, and that's the price with Amazon

Would love to hear your review from the garage to the lounge, I have a similar office shed and home plug is giving me just about 20mb wired, would love to try the orb as an alternative

Got it set up now. Works reliably in the garage and gets me a decent signal in lots of the garden, too. The connection to the satellite is shown as amber, though, and I'm getting just over 20Mb from the garage. I guess I'd get a better signal if I bought a 2nd satellite, but this speed is quite adequate for streaming.

I think it's a nicer solution than a homeplug, but I don't know if I'd bother getting one if I already had a homeplug working. Of course, a lot will depend on distance and on the construction of the buildings.
One more update - weirdly, moving the satellite to a plug socket less than 2m away doubled the speed to over 40mb. Worth experimenting with positioning, it seems!
